I’m usually alright with computers, but the one has me stumped.

My old laptop’s HD went bad, so we replaced the bad 60gb with a new 120gb and ran the recovery disc provided with the computer. That disc partitioned the new 120gb into a recovery sector and ~55gb of free space.
That laptop is gone but I kept the HD and bought an external case for it. But I now have a 120GB HD with a 4.6GB sector, and a 55.4GB sector. When I plug it in, the recovery and free space show up as two different drives with two different letters.

My goal here is to wipe the ENTIRE HD of any files, or partitions, leaving it with a full 120GB of free space. Where you guys come in is showing me how to do so. I’m on a laptop with Vista, but have easy access to a computer with Windows XP if that would help.

Any questions you guys need to ask to help better, feel free to do so, I’ll answer to the best of my abilities. Thanks in advance for any help!

Partition Magic. Google and find a free trial and use it. That's how I re-partition stuff for Linux/Windows. Very easy to use.

Got it figured out. Did it through disc manager.

Right clicking it wouldn't work, because it was showing up at two separate drives, that's what I was trying to get rid of..
