Hmm, just wondering, Would this be considered an average, or above average speed?

Im running on a Win XP - Wireless as well.

I would say that's a bit above average. That actually ends up being just shy of 1 megaBYTE per second transfer rate. The number there is kiloBITs, which would convert into 7 megaBITs, and 1 megaBYTE is equivalent to 8 megaBITs.

Also of note is your upload rate is redonkulously high.

To give you an idea I'll put up my results, which are of a premium DSL subscription in Florida.

The thing I dont get is how the computer that is hosting the Wireless for the laptop I did that test on, is less than half of that speed :confused:

And no its not special government service. Just regular Comcast high speed service to a single family home.Government building I'm not that special. Its kinda weird though cause out of all my friends on Xbox Live, (that live around me) I'm usually the lagger; though not really anymore since i updated the firmware on my router.

CJ42991- That's about average for most DSL service.

Tested mine again and it seems to be just about right :D.

Guess I should stop complaining about comcast. This is using a MacBook Pro with wireless N and a cable modem. Ill check my desktop pc later and see how it compares.
