Google Chrome
Yum or Yuck?
I say fix the few bugs and its definitely a "yum" IMO. Clean, simple, fast and secure. I thought it was just another firefox... but I find I'm using it more than firefox:eek:. My favorite part? ISOLATED TABS. Also that the tabs are on the top... alowing for more web page real estate. There are bugs though, especially with the forums. Just weird and quirky stuff in the editing box. Nothing horrible, but the bug report feature in the beta version is nice :)
For those of you who have no idea what I'm talking about:

Just watch the video. It explains a lot.

I like the isolation, though I already run my IE6 windows in independent threads. I like the simplicity of the interface. However, I read a column today comparing it to IE8, and IE8 was just as fast or faster, and used significantly less CPU resources viewing the exact same pages. It's going to get interesting, especially since Google will now stop promoting FF, cutting off FF's single largest stream of support & new users.
The browser wars are back again, much to the significant detriment of web developers and independent site owners like me. In about a year, we may have more distinct "prevalent" browsers than ever, namely IE6, IE7, IE8, Chrome/Safari, FF3, and by then who knows, maybe FF4/Aurora. That's six different rendering engines to hack code for and to test. Enter the suck like no suck before it.
Looks awesome, but I can't try it :( Linux :(
I'm tempted to try it, but I'm liking FF3+Vista.
"If something bad happens in one sandbox, there's a giant flood, it starts to rain or something, the other sandboxes are going to stay nice and dry, nice and happy."

I :) at that. Bugs I find extremely annoying are:
1. The button, "Your account" doesn't work correctly in this forum.
2. When you use the scroll wheel to scroll in any edit box, the whole page scrolls down one you hit the top or bottom of the edit box. I think its the same with FF and IE though... That always annoyed me.
3. You cant scroll wheel click to scroll anymore like you can in Opera, FF, and IE.
4. Smileys don't show up as gifs when you pull down the smiley's menu. They are just the html equivalent.

I get that with FireFox3 as well :d
I know you were going to work on that Jang... Its seems that both firefox and chrome do the same thing... it appears to be random. Its not a big deal though. When you get time.... If you get time ;)
Lets see, the most visited, not really needed IMHO. That's what bookmark tabs are for. Other than that, I didn't see anything you can't get on FF or something, aside from a few small things that seemed useless to me anyways.
i like it!
Though i`m a through and through Firefoxer...
Oh no... talk about one heck of a debate.
Do I dare ditch the fox? or do I save it from getting ran over on the road?

I dono, Firefox does a lot that the google browser doesnt. Mainly, real time searching, great add-on support, and a very large supportive community behind it.
Untill google can get that under its belt, I think I'll be sticking to firefox for now. I'll use chrome for speed browsing, but for anything else, its firefox.
I also use a program called RoboForm. Google doesnt support it so that alone leaves me with IE or Firefox.
If you are looking for alternative browsers, check out Flock or Opera. They both work well but FF is still my main browser when using windoze.

I've been using Chrome on both my laptop and my desktop almost exclusively. My impression is that it is very fast compared to FF or IE7 on the same internet connection, but it is still prone to locking up like IE6 (at least on my desktop). The minimalist design is excellent, particularly on the 22" widescreen LCD I use when my laptop is docked.
However, it does have some bugs. The most apparent to me is that it doesn't function with URC's menu bars like Firefox or IE do. If I click on "Other" at the top of this page, for example, it doesn't display the drop-down list where I would normally click "Mark Forums Read". So I end up going back into IE to do that anyways.

Same here. Untill Google fixes the bugs, I'll be going back and fourth between FF and Chrome. I use Chrome most of the time though. Got to love simplicity.
Another thing I really don't like about Chrome: it won't allow me to print selected text. This is really annoying because there's always a selected portion of a page I wish to print out, and now I have to go back to IE to do it.
