I played around with my desktop layout the other night and found a setup that I really like. Based a lot on a mac but while still working the way I want it to.

Tell me what you think.

I've been using it for a few days now and really like it. Once I figure out all the different things I can do with the bar at the bottom I should be good.

It's linux. Not to hard to use.

Mac would probably be a bit tricky to use coming from Windows or a little less if coming from Linux. Just setup completely different from everything else.

I transferred from XP to an IMac. The Mac's are easier to use, you just need to get used to a new layout/configuration.

Uhm, it's compatible with most things, but if you really need it, they have programs which basically haves you run XP on your mac. [Bootcamp, VirtualPC]

Linux is compatible with most hardware (a lot more than windows imo). As far as programs go, it depends on the type. If its open source then there's almost always a linux version. If it's something you buy at the store then not usually. But there's almost always an alternative that you can use that is similar. But then you have to realize it's all free.

As far as macs go it's compatible with apple hardware only. For programs it really depends but more and more programs run on it.
