For me, it really depends what I'm doing. I usually prefer a Windows machine because I'm much more experienced with it. I'm also an engineer and almost all engineering programs are windows based. Macs are a lot of fun to play around with though. Apple has Microsoft hands down for designing intuitive operating systems.

Years ago I was a computer programmer. So I know my way around a PC. It still has its uses. But I love the stability of the Mac.

PC. but i was a cross platform user from 05-07
heres what i learned:

OSX and apple software: i love it. but it does crash, despite what macfans will tell you.
the hardware: crap. overpriced. often obsolete being marketed as inovative technology.
macfans: my biggest problem with macs. most of you have at one point met a 'true diehard', so no explaination needed.

funny prank to play on mac users- there is a screen saver i found that is designed to look exactly like a kernel failure when it comes up-kernel failure is the mac equivalent to BSOD on windows. i watched my friend restart his computer 5 times before he realized it was a screen saver- hilarious

I would pick using a Mac over Microsoft anyday. Although I use linux. Can't beat a Unix type design.

Both have their purposes, having used a windows based machine for a majority of my childhood i turned to apple in my teenage years, all i have to say is i love it. Yes occasionally programs will crash etc.. But it's defiantly more stable then a windows based os.

As soon as you find an OS where programs don't crash you come tell me.
