Wicked! Thats exactly what I want to hear.... Ive got my Samsung 32in HDTV sittin in the box waitin for christmas morning....8,000:1 contrast ratio.....
But unfortunatly Im going to have to scam a HDMI 360 when I can..
TJF do you have component cables aswell?
Its there any noticable difference between Component n HDMI that you can see?
I do have the Component HD cable but never actually used the HD, since I bought it all at once I just hooked up the HDMI. I could check it out, maybe a little later today. Just got home from work and dont feel like messing with it....

There is definitely a difference between 1080p HDMI and 1080i or 720P Component. Lines are crisper and there isn't any lag (In GH3 anyway)

I was talkin more in reference to 720P Component vs 720p HDMI.
I don't a 1080p T.V... not that you can see the difference on a 32in lol

I'd give you props but you need to be more original. Also I sense a lot of sarcasm from your statement. I was sincere in calling you cool, I really thought you were. For a hot minute you were my hero.
Also given the fact that I'm referencing how much better Halo 3 is in HD contributes to a thread about Halo 3. Just slamming the game cause your skillz on teh stickz are mad weak doesn't. And if you think I'm bragging, I earned my setup. Paid for it with the money I earned just as everyone else here is capable of doing.
Your internet flamming skills are fading with age young one.

I don't get 1080p on this TV, maybe because it's only a 26"? Would there be any difference between 1080i or p if they are both HDMI? But it was in 1320x720 or something like that and I switched it over to 1080i (good or bad move?). I didn't notice any real differences, but it should be better since it's interlaced right? I have yet to hook up that component cable yet cause I'm lazy, but I might here shortly since theres nothing to do at 4 AM.

720p is generally regarded as better looking then 1080i due to there being less scaling.
The more scaling involved, the worse off the picture is.
There is a big difference between 1080i and 1080p, with 1080p being the highest definition.
For you to get the best image, you need to try and find something called 1:1 pixel mapping, or whatever your t.v may call it.
What happens is, our t.v's native display resolution is 1,366x768, as is most HD (not FULL HD) LCD's...
360 can display 720p (1,280x720) or 1080i (1,920x1,080) (along with other reso's)
720 p is the resolution that requires the smallest amount of change, or "scaling" to fit the screen. 1080i resolution means that it all those pixels must be squashed.
At any rate, 720p looks slightly more crisp, and 1080i slightly more jaggy.
However, with a HDMI or VGA cable, you can set it to 1:1 pixel mapping. This means that your xbox can OUTPUT 1.366x768, which is your T.V's native resolution, creating the clearest possible picture.
I am currently running my xbox on 720p to my 32in HDTV and it can look pretty jaggy here and there. Im gonna go buy a VGA cable tommorow and hopefully sort it allll out.
Well I went ahead and set the 360 to run optimal and it set itself to 1360x768p standard and the TV automatically switched from 1080i to that. The TV's only wide ratio is 16:9 and I can't find anything on the 360 or TV relating to 1:1 pixel mapping. That being said I'm not gonna play around with the component cable if your picking something up tomorrow anyways. Told ya I was lazy. lol

I think you will find that your optimal setting will probably be pixel mapping if it is that ratio.
All it really means is that every pixel from the output of your 360 will be displayed on your screen, rather then then the xbox displaying 1920x1080i and trying to scale it to your screens native resolution of 1360x768 etc
Do you notice many jaggies on your screen? I have noticable jaggies on Forza 2
Nothing looks jagged on either setting. I know the TV switches itself between 1360x768p and 1080i HD depending on what the xbox is set to. Maybe the TV does a better job of scaling than the 360? Since I notice no difference I'm just gonna let it run 1080i HD...

Forza 2 is a bad example. The game itself isn't that high of resolution, so scaling it makes it doubly worse. If that makes any sense. Incidentally, I also have Halo 3. Gamertag is Guitardrumr. Though I'm mostly in CoD4 and Forza 2 right now.
I almost started playing the Halos until i started playing the Unreal games. Don't get me wrong Halo does have it's moments but I think a lot of people get sucked into the plublicity. I got tired of killing the same aliens over and over again, and there is no strategy save that you have to make sure you have enough amo. So i started playing 2multiplayer only to reveal that Unreal had better graphics, plot, strategy, and fun.
