For those of you running Vista that are getting mad at it taking up too much ram, creating problems, not working correctly, not liking your hardware, causing other stuff on your network to not work, blah blah blah. Basically these problems, http://mediavidea.blogspot.com/2007/01/case-against-vista.html So for those who have those problems there's an alternative called Linux, specifically Vixta. It's a distro based on Fedora that is designed to feel like Vista without the problems (especially the price problem).

I like vista. And it likes my computer. The video driver took a little finding but now it works OK. Id definately try this distro though. What is the interface like? Can you give me a screenshot? im a huge fan of Aero and Id like a linux distro that mimics it.
This page should give you a little idea. http://sourceforge.net/project/screenshots.php?group_id=206087&ssid=68107
As soon as I finish watching Top Gear I'm going to try this distro out.

if you have enough ram then you dont need to worry about it.
But there's so many more problems (in most people's minds) than the ram. And of course you're supporting Bill Gates. The problem I see is that they started building Windows off the dos platform and then just kept adding on till they got to what they have now, what we know as Vista. With their technology they could make it the best thing out there if only they striped all the old stuff away and started building Vista on it's own platform. If they did that it would be a LOT more light and agile, instead of a huge heavy operating system.
BTW the reason they don't do that is mostly because it would cost a lot of money and of course Bill wouldn't want to spend any of his $60 Billion when Windows is still the main operating system as most people have no idea how a computer works. Like my old history teacher who said every computer in the world runs on a program made by Bill Gates. First of all Bill wasn't the only person to start Microsoft. And second there's Apple, Linux, Unix, and other's that most people haven't heard of.
