It is underclocked for battery life, cooling, and a problem with the video driver that makes the screen fuzzy. The bios for the processor to urn at 900mhz has been released, but it has it's drawbacks, such as USB 2.0 down to USB 1.1, the fuzzy screen (Driver currently being developed for that-making good progress-working on many computers), excess heat, and a decreased battery life.

I dont think that macs are as worth it as you say they are. Sure, if you buy a mac JUST so you can use the apple-exclusive software (umm... garage band?), then you're paying for a thousand or multithousand dollar work computer that looks pretty. However, if you put XP on it, why bother buying a mac in the first place? the hardware is NOT top notch for what you're paying. Almost all of the apple-exclusive programs have Windows XP cousins or visa versa. Im not saying i dont like macs, i really do. Macs are easy to use, fun to use, and they look pretty. i would buy a mac laptop over another one if i had the money. Im just saying theyre not worth it for what you are getting, in my honest opinion.
On another note, i love my EEE pc!

Motion seconded!
I'm saving up for an Eee but the rumors say Acer is coming out with some competition very soon. So I'll have to wait and see what they have. But apparently it'll come in 8 and 9in models with prices similar to the eee. Sounds good to me.

They said the same about the Everex Cloudbook, but you'll not see the same performance and compatibility the Eee provides along with the great price for a looong time.
