Since I've been using the same AMD 2000+ 1.6 ghz computer from 2003 or so I'm really needing more speed (along with memory). I'm on a tight budget so I'm looking for big bang for little money.

I was looking at this Intel CPU which seems to be good for under $60 (3.46ghz, 64-bit)

Or this AMD CPU

Then which-ever cpu I end up getting will determine the mainboard.

Then I have a good wireless card, psu, dvd drive, and hard drive so I'll use those.

I've done some more research and have come up with this.

CPU: Intel Celeron 420 Conroe-L 1.6GHz (which can be easily overclocked to 3-3.2ghz)

MoBo: MSI G33M-FI $90 with on boad video and room to upgrade the cpu later on

Ram: A cheap 1gb stick.

Tell me what you think.

NOOOO
no
no no no
stay away from celerons
they are horrible.
low cache sizes make them crap compared to a comparitively priced AMD
So how much do you really have to spend?
Oh, and onboard video is horrible too.
