How to compress videos?

I am having a very hard time compressing videos so they will go on youtube... how do I compress them? Thanks

I'm not exactly sure which program you are using to import and edit the movie. However, when you save the file, choose to export it first off. Then select a formatting that isn't the biggest you can choose. For example, it should give you options like; full quality, web, online streaming, email, etc.

you'll notice that a large portion of videos on the tube are crap quality and sometimes have audio that is out of sync with the footage.
best way i've found to preserve quality is to make the FLV file yourself, and upload that.
youtube will not convert you flv file, so it will display the same as on you're HDD
