Hey guys, well, ive been looking at getting my own computer now for awhile. I was just looking at getting a tower, and nice flat screen. But doing more thinking, I think i'd find it more convienint to get a laptop.

But here's the problem. Im NO computer genious by any means, and my dad who knows tons about them, but is out of town for buisness till mid to later September.

I was looking on flee-bay for some nice used, or refurbished ones. The one that I like is the Sony ones. I dont want anything to to fancy, but I dont want plain jane. I would use it for teenage stuff such as MSN, Online gaming (Battlefield!!), forums (URC) and such.

My spending limit I think would be around $500. Is it possible? Or am I going to have to bump my limit a bit? Any info would be great, and maybe some links to some.

Thanks ahead of time.

Brett.

IF you're planning on doing any level of gaming, you're going to have to upgrade a bit. However, I wouldn't just go for Sony computers, Acer, Toshiba, and Dell make some quite nice laptops. I bought mine on ebay for $600 about a year ago, and what I got was an ATI Radeon x600 mobile, 1.3ghz Centrino, DVD/CD burner, 1gig of ram, and an 80 gig hard drive. I'll poke around ebizzle for you when i get home.

Thanks, and ya, about the Sonys. I dont mind if its not one, im just saying they seem like nice comps. I also would like somthing with a large screen. I dont mean to sound to picky, but I mean when im buying somthing such as this, I want to buy it once, and get what I want.

It dosent have to be to fancy for gaming, i'd play Battlefield 1942 online probably and thats it. The game is getting older, and I dont belive you need to good of specs to play it.

You still got that laptop? Ill buy it for 250 shipped.;)
