Ok, so my Xbox 360 decided to stop playing Xbox 360 games. I put in PGR3 or COD2 and it tries to read it as a DVD, then says I need to put the game in an Xbox 360 in order to play it. Hold on a sec, it is in a 360. However, Halo 2 works fine. Brand new copy of any new game does not work. Microsoft Tech guy (east Indian, with atrocious accent) (and I'm not trying to be racist, I'm simply stating the fact that he could barely speak English) kept iterating that the disc is a circle, and I say, "Well no **** its a circle, its not called a disc for no reason" (and I only swore after the 14th time he said something about a circle) and he said I needed to try different games. I think I'll just return it to Costco.

That sucks.. I sent my 360 to MS for repair last month.. the three red lights of death

Costco has a great return policy as I'm sure you know... I would swap it out for a new one for now and then when Costco stocks the new elite I would exchange it again.. ;)

Amen to that. i dont like microsoft for the red ring of death on is activated by your games skipping to many times. should have saved up more for PS3 cause at least after a few months sony corrects the problem instead of making exuses

when you reply to a thread, why do people insist on quoting the first post?!?!?! It's kinda obvious that your talking about the first post when you're in this thread.

Anything MS will always be inferior to other things different companies make, kind of like games from Electronic Arts (that's a can of worms I'll save for another day).

Either a PS3 or a Wii is what I'll eventually get. I don't trust the Xbox much farther than I could kick it, even though some games like PGR and Mech Assault are cool.

Id would rather have a console that I play continuously, and replaced once or twice, then a console that I never use.

Out-sourcing is becoming more and more common. In the electronics and computer industry you're just going to have to learn to cope with speaking to a tech-support guy from India. The fact is companies are out-sourcing because it's cheaper to hire someone from India or China than it is to hire one that's home-grown (so to speak). The people that are hired from India are quite literally hungry for the job and that means they'll work harder. Also, those that are being hired from India have gone to school to help them lose their Indian accent.

It makes it easier for them. or you do it if you thi nk you have something very important to say:ninja:

From experience, the three red rings of death aren't from a disc skipping too many times. The processors overheat due to poor cooling, and they unsolder themselves from the motherboard. It can be fixed by an individual, but it's extremely hard in my opinion.

Thats one of them (i believe the two or four) but if you wait a second and only three red lights are on thats from the games skipping more times than it thinks it should. I have a friend that works for them and not only that resetting the hard drive worked so that means it can only be a simple tripup instead of the big ones that they have to fix themselves.

My friends bro tapped (like pushed it a little) his 360 with his foot while it was on and then it started skipping and ended up scratching the disk real bad. Now when you try to play forza it works fine untill you start a race and then it gives you a bunch of errors.
