Need For Speed Carbon

I just got this game today. So far its really good, but am I the only one who finds it extraordinarily hard to drift?

RWD? Check. Lots of torque? Check. Handbrake? Check.


You're gonna wanna use 1st or 2nd gear, and keep those revs high (this according to the last time I did drift in Underground, don't know how the canyone racing is). Use the handbrake as your turn to break the back wheels loose, then nail the gas. Turn into the drift, but use the throttle to control the speed and angle (more throttle = more speed and more angle, but is easier to lose control of).

Need for speed carbon is SUBSTANTIALLY (spelling) harder to drift than Underground. Underground was basically cake, go into a corner drop a gear, and tap e-brake the car acted like it was basically on rails.. Me and my brother Stampede_dude beat Need for Speed Carbon a few weeks ago. The best thing to do is practice, and another tip is on the caynons you dont even need the e-brake Get the car sideways and use your NOS to keep you away from the walls trust me. Nos on this game is ridiculous, you get the car CLOSE to a wall carrying a lot of speed, hit the nos and it's like you werent even heading for the wall it will pull you foward if you lay the NOS to it. By the way, upgrade one car and keep it and save the rest of the money until you can get a GOOD tier 2 car or a Tier 3 car (Corvette/Viper/Mclaren).

I got this game today, played some, then played 2-player with my brother, then tryed to go back to playing my career and my memory card had corrupted my save file so I have to start over again. I guess it pays to have a non-3rd party card.

Yeah I know, but I didn't buy the gamecube. Great game. Started another career and have made it pretty far. Got to the first boss then would make it to the very end and then he would pass me somehow in the very end of his chase. But it's very addicting.

I didn't think the graphics are too bad. I'm just having trouble drifting.

the graphics for most wanted were way better, it felt like i was playin underground again

I found drifting in Carbon pretty hard. you have be really careful with countersteer. speed is the key to drifting in Carbon.

at least it has more options, like it has muscle cars instead of just reg imports, and what not

So far all I've had is Mazda's because of their great handling. I had a RX-8 but had a bunch of money so now I have a RX-7. Very nice car with great acceleration and handling. I'm getting addicted to this game.

i like my camaro, its easy to drift ( then again ive played all NFSU and played A LOT )

I just rented it for the Wii and it's fairly difficult, at least with some cars. Very weird with the remote though. I probably just need to practice some more.

Switch the control settings so that gas is the wii mote and steering is on the nunchuk. hella easier. Personally I liked NFSMW better then carbon. Don't like the whole night thing.

As soon as I beat Carbon I'll get MW and then the underground 1 + 2. It's a good time stealer.
