media is a pretty vague description, for one.
you need to be specific about prgram, file type, ect.
give me as much information as you can

your flash install is hosed, there has been a know issue with some of the updates.

go here -> http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html#uninstaller

get the uninstaller, then reinstall Flash 9 with the new installer on the site here -> http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash

it has the bug fixed.

did some more digging, there are more and more systems showing up with this. Adobe looks to be draging their heals on this. BUT it looks like that it only affects Internet Explorer.

so try this.

un-install it again, reboot and try to play anything but a flash game/movie, if that works great then go on, if not search all file and folders with the hidden files turned on for 'flash9' if it uninstalled right you should not see anything.

If the un-install worked then down load fire fox, intstall that, go to any site that has a flash game/movie that you know. let fire fox download the player. I'm currently running flash ver. 9.0.16.0 on fire fox and have had no issues. and I can't seem to find anyone that is having the OCX error when using Fire Fox.

if that doesnt do it ??? I'm out of ideas.
