For both Intel and AMD
http://www.legitreviews.com/systemguide.php
Budget = $700
This system has a budget of $700 and you will be amazed what you can get for $700 these days. This is the perfect computer for those who do mild gaming, overclocking, and application use. The price tag is higher than what you will see the entry level systems at the major PC builders are going for, but these "budget" PC's aren't slow by any means.
Mainstream = $1,000
Moving up to a $1,000 budget we find that high end graphics cards and processors can easily be had. The mainstream system is aimed at those weekend warriors who like to have the weekend off work and play hard. These systems have higher end motherboards with more features that allow more tweaking to be done if so desired down the road.
High End = $1,500
Our high end system has a price tage of $1,500 and feature the latest in dual core processors from both AMD and Intel. These systems are beyond what a normal user would ever need, but we aren't typical computer users. With high end graphics, 2GB of system memory, hard drives in RAID 0, and high performance chipsets these systems are reserved for gamers and enthusiasts.

Tell me what you wanna spend and I'l do my best to help out...
The best value for money video card right now I reckon is an Nvidia 6600GT. I purchased one a couple of months ago, and it runs everything I play on nice high settings. Its price is very good though, I paid £70 for mine.
I'd also try to have at least 1GB of ram if I was you. Its dirt cheap these days.
