Ok so as of now I have a compaq presario SR1503WM. It has 256 RAM, and a 64 MB intergrated video card. I wanted to get a 128 - 256 , ATI or Nvidia, PCI graphics card. Im looking for something within a 100-200 Range and that can handle Half-Life 2 with no issues. Also how do I go about this intergrated video card can I just stick in my new one in a PCI slot and it will override the 64?
Thanx
-Josh
EDIT
I was thinking this or a 9700GT nvidia

Nope, that is a AGP card....Be more specific, do you have PCI, AGP, or PCI-Express? If you just have PCI, then your options are very, very, very limited. And an nVidia 9700? Never heard of one...You probably mean ATI 9700. I"ll look up your computer's specs and give you some options.

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1723244&Tab=0&NoMapp=0 This is the best card that you could get that is PCI. PCI and AGP have been out for a while, it's all about PCI-E now. If you wanted better graphice, you would have to buy a new motherboard. But that video card should be able to play HL2 on all medium/ no AA/AF with no glitches, but the second best improvement would be to get new RAM.
Thanks penguin. Im pretty sure its PCI..I dont know did you check?
Im also replacing the poor 256 with a Gig of kingston.

Yep, I checked. A new video card and more ram would be the best possible improvement you could make to your computer besides a new Motherboard/ processor
Yea the motherboard thing I dont see happening..I blew up or last motherboard and my dad said I cant touch the Computer without his permission lol.
Now how bout this intergrated 64? Will the 256 override it with np's?

Yea, just plug in the new card, start the computer up, and install the drivers. =]
If you can... get a pic of the slots, so we can say for sure whether they are agp or pci... because pci has been out for a VERY VERY long time...
