What should I do. I have gone through everything that I can think of. Here is my setup to help.

1). computer #1 in my brothers room(has wireless router and modem attached to his pc)
2). computer #2 in my room(connected to the router by ethernet cable)
3). computer #3 in the basement(connected to the router by wireless card)
4). printer connected to computer#3 by a usb cable.

What am I doing wrong. Everytime I try to print from computer#2(where I'm typin now), it says connection problem. What gives I tell ya, what gives!

Try going through the network setup wizard, start>control panel>network setup wizard.

I've done that on both computers.

You might have to install an internet protocol. To do this, go to Start > My Network Places > Network Connections (it should be text you click on the left), then right click Local Area Connection, the General tab should already be selected, then click install. Click Protocol then click Add... Choose the IPX/SPX or something along those lines and click ok.

You need to do this on both computers.

That allows the computers to communicate properly.

If what pimp said doesn't work, try updating your printer driver.

before i do the protocol thing, should I go and install the printer on each pc first?

Shouldn't matter. If it is installed on one or the other, that driver will be transferred to the other PC when you share it and that PC installs it.

You know how to add a network printer right?

You need to install the protocols on both computers first and then do this on the computer that you installed the printer on (usually the one that the printer is directly connected to):

Go to Start > Control Panel > Printers and Other Hardware > View installed printers or fax printers > then right click on the printer and go to Sharing... > Turn on sharing.

Now on the other computer go to Start > Control Panel > Printers and Other Hardware > Add printer > Select Network Printer and then click next. Now unless you know the name of the computer that the printer is connected to (the other one; you aren't on it) just select Browse for a printer (this will take a couple of minutes), then select the one that is the one you want. If you do know the name of the other computer then type this: \\name and then click next and it will narrow the search time down for the printer considerably. You should be done now.
