Serious (Adware, Pop-Up) Issues.

Im having some SERIOUS issues on FireFox....Ive had it about a year and the other day started getting TONS! I mean TONS! of pop-ups. I have the pop up blocker on, I ran AVG, Spyblaster and some other program cleaned it and restarted it...Nothing it's a bit better but nothing great...Can't play any PC games or I'll be poping out every minute. I have no clue what to do..Any great programs?

I have Firefox 1.5 and the Adblock plug in.

Suggestions and Ideas.

Get ad-aware se personal. It will get all of the adware off your pc and end the popups because they are already in your computer.

I have Aluria spyware and firewall and then Norton Anti-virus. But I have a problem with Firefox where it won't let me bookmark anything and on here the page shakes like crazy. But I'm running aluria now and it's already found 15 things.

I have Ad-adware SE....did good but did'nt solve crap. I have a firewall and all running no hope...When i get my Ram and Graphics card I'll end up erasing the drive and starting fresh.

I dont run any form of antivirus, or popup blocker or spyware blocker (besides firefox). Never have. Just stay out of the pron sites and you shouldn't get too much junk.

In my opinion, antivirus software slows your computer down just as much if not more than most viruses.

In my opinion, antivirus software slows your computer down just as much if not more than most viruses. Actually thats the odd part..I have'nt LOL. Not in some time. Just odd I get all these pop-ups from no where.

Your best bet is to not get spyware or antivirus programs. Reformat your computer, put on only the nessicary programs and run windows firewall, and no anti virus. Just stay away from places you will get virus's from. Anti virus programs slow down your computer alot just scanning while you use your comp! -Jon

Another program to try is Spybot Search and Destroy (sounds mean, doesn't it!). I've found that this program will locate items that Adaware doesn't.

reformat, just save all your crap that you want on some cd's or dvd's or an external harddrive and start from scratch. thats you best bet. itll get rid of al that crap
