It's an im program that tells you who's online and what games they're playing

And also allows you to join them. It also keeps track of how long you pkay a certain game while on XFire, and can check out how long you've been playing in your profile on their site. Which is www.XFire.com (http://www.XFire.com). I highly recommend this program. For hte most part, this is the only IM program I use. Also, it is highly skinable, and they have many skins available on their site.

Im a source player now, used to play 1.6 when it first came out, but not much. I was into the original cs mod of hl1.

Source is not the dark side, 1.6 is. Crappy graphics and the physics of yesteryear=Not as good as source.:eek: Come to source!

The physics in Source aren't very good...I mean, when he's shooting the .50 cal, the recoil is like that if he was shooting a 9mm...in real life..but it's still great :)

You do realize, of course, that Source is nothing more than 1.6 with updated graphics? And the reason I say Source is the Dark Side, is because there is FAR more community support behind 1.6, both HL and CS.

I did not know it was just a reskin. I stand corrected. I guess the last time I played 1.6 was like 3 years ago, so it feels different.

Well, it feels different because it IS a different engine, but the gameplay is not different at all. The only real difference between them, is the graphics and the number of players supported, and I'm not sure if that part is cause of the servers or the game.

The thing is, the community is almost entirely behind 1.6. When HL2 came out, and CS:S with it, people thought that 1.6 would die. The exact opposite has happened. While Source got off to a great start, and was steadily growing, it's started to drop off some, while 1.6 never stopped growing. This is oweing to the fact that quite a few modders know that the demand is still very strong for 1.6, but there's no where near as much for Source. Add to this that 1.6 is simpler to make mods for, and that Source is essentially a reskin of the original CS, then you begin to see why the community is sticking with 1.6.
