I was sitting at a table with my friends eating lunch today, and some kid at the table next to us was talking about how he plays Counter-Strike: Source. Some other kid asked him "What video card do you have?" He's like "I have a sweet geforce 5200" and the kid says "WOW! Can you SLI that?" I dunno...I thought it was funny from a techie's point of view...

You should hear some of the conversations my friends have...
I can barely talk computers with my friends... One of them understands, probably because he has asked for my help with his computer multiple times.
And I thought I was stupid talking about my 6600gt
Hey now, the 6600GT is a strong card and arguably the best value you can get at ~$130 for nearly the performance of single 6800's.

On the subject of 7800 SLi, I get to build a dual-GT setup this week for a mate! He's using a s939 Opteron too, serious overclockers. 3Ghz here he comes!

Nope, not that good. About the 6600: Most 6800's are just oc'd 6600's anyway. But I though the opteron was a proc for a server, not a gaming machine?

s939 Opteron is basically a Venice A64 with a meg of cache. They go hard at all things.
6800s are not 6600s, totally different core, with the 6800 having 12-16 Pixel pipelines and running from 350-415Mhz. 6600's have 8 pixel pipelines and run at 500MHz.

Theyre different, and thats why the 6800's run so HOT. I have my 6600gt oc'd some, 535MHz and 1.11GHz, and it still doesn't run as hot as the 6800's.
