We're looking for people in our area (Starkville, MS - Miss State Univ) who would like to race/bash a little with us. Right now, there are 2 of us with T3s, another guy about to buy a T3 or Rustler, and another who has an old Kyosho Rocky hes gonna refurbish. We have a 75 ft X 45 ft grass track with some wooden jumps we run on now, but we are about to kill the grass and try to make a nice Off-Road Track. We have enough room make whatever kind of track we can draw an interest to, BUT, we HAVE to find enough people to warrent the effort it will take to go further.
If you know someone in our area, tell them about us. We already have a paintball field, so R/C aint the only thing we do here.

I think I'm the closest to you buddy, and I live by Biloxi. Good to finally see somebody else from MS on here!
Heck, we have Mississippi State Univ (pop. 16k+ -) only 15 minutes away. Starkville is the town its in (pop. 22k+ -), so between the two (est. pop. 38k) there should be AT LEAST 10 people or so who would find this hobby interesting enough to do it on a regular basis. Ive been toying with the idea of putting an ad in the paper.
Are you the only person from down there that is a member here? I have a good friend down there that we just introduced to R/C. He lives around Van Cleve I believe. His Father is my racing Buddy here. He just got an XMOD Evolution for Christmas, and LOVES it WAYYY more than we thought he would. So, a T3 to keep up with his Father and I is sure to soon follow, hehe.
RCCA says there are tracks in Saucier (is that where you race?), Meridian, and Jackson, why arent people from there on here. Is there a "MS specific" R/C website/forum they all go to? Maybe yall have one for your area down there? How bout used T3 stuff, much of it for sale down there? Maybe we could get him racing bigger stuff a little sooner if he could pick up something close to him. Hes says the only thing stopping him is no one else to race with (talking about the XMODS). We may just take a trip down there in a bit, bring all our vehicles, and play around. THAT would get him going.

I've never been to the Saucier track, honestly didn't even know it existed. I have quite a few xmods if you are interested in running those. As far as I know we're the only URC members from Mississippi. It'd be fun to bash together, my Pede needs a good running. :D
The only hobby shop I'm familiar with is Orange Grove Hobby, and I'm not sure if they have T3 stuff. I'll check on it next time I run by there.
The January RCCA Magazine says theres a track in Saucier. LOL See if you can find out something about it. If not, where do you run at? We're planning to come down sometime to race and maybe play some paintball
I "discovered" XMODS while I was researching to buy a 1/10. We've been telling our buddy down there about R/C for a while, but, since his Mother-In-Law gave him a GTO Evolution for Christmas, hes HOOKED!!! So, maybe we can run XMODS AND 1/10s when we come down.
Im gonna get him (his name is Shane btw) to join here, and xmodsfoum.com, then there will be 3 of us. WooHoo, hehe. We're REAL newbs, so you will have to so us a few things Im sure. It would be fun to hang out with someone we met on here. Theres NO reason we cant do it. We were just down there a week or 2 before the hurricane. Which brings up a coincidence about your sig. I actually SLEPT through Hurricane ADREW down in Miami. We went north a bit to a friends house, with a bunch of other friends running from it. A tree feel on our house, but, just messed up the edge of our roof. No biggie, but, a wierd little coincidence, huh.
I went to the hobby shop just above I-10 on 49 when we were down there. Is that the one you're talking about? Hes said there aint to much associated stuff around there. I kinda wish we had started with Traxxas, but, I wouldnt give up my T3 now. We hope to buy a couple of Rustlers soon.....maybe a Stampede or something.

Yeah, Ive talked to him a couple times, nice fellow. The website looks like the place would be awesome. Its really in (pardon the expression, hehe) "South Central" MS, about 2 hrs south of me. I REALLY want to go check it out, but I dont get down that way very often. I can actually get to Tuscaloosa a few minutes faster than I can get to Jackson, but I havent been there yet either. *sigh*

I'm New To The Columbus Area And Was Lookin For Some People To Bash With. I Live Moved Here From Tuscaloosa And We Had A Little Track Over There We Ran On, But I Dont Know Much About This Area. If You Have Any Info Or Want To Do Some Bashin Let Me Know.

Where in the heck do you live man? I live near the high school in D'iberville, by Cafe New Orleans.
As far as a track, I'm not really sure what we have around here, because personally I've been looking. I know that the Hobbytown USA in Mobile does races every Saturday though, and the drive isn't very far.

Dang I miss mississippi, I was stationed in Gulfport at the Seabee Base. I will move back out there again. There are tons of places to bash and have fun!
I lived in Gulf Port around 88-89. I went to EMT school there (Jefferson Davis Campus?). Then went back home and got a job at the local County Hospital. Got my First Credit Card while I was there, and PROMPTLY MESSED IT UP!!! Made REALLY good friend while there (met in EMT Class), but have lost touch. Ran into a girl I had a crush on several years before back here while I was there (she was stationed at the Air Base), and, uh, well, "persued it". Lets just say, "Some things SHOULD be LEFT to the imagination". The Bar On-Base was cool though. Oh well, (in my best Ren voice) "Meeeeemorries".
