I recently got Call of Duty: Finest Hour for the X-Box for Christmas. Fun game, I liked it a lot. I then found that Call of Duty 2 was also available for the PC, not just 360, and downloaded the demo and thought it killed the X-Box. I'm currently downloading the 2 demos available for the original CoD and 1 for the expansion pack. Several questions. Is it worth getting the original Call of Duty and it's expansion because I've heard they are more "skill based" instead of just fragging like some people think CoD 2 is. Should I just skip the first two and buy CoD 2? And my other question is does anyone on here play any games in the series? I ran into someone on Live last nite with a screename TRAXXASsomething. Thanks in advance.

Edit: Call of Duty 2 Demo ran great on that with everything turned up as high as the demo would allow.

Ok, Installed all 3 of those demos and none of them would even open. They came up with errors reading:

Could not load OpenGL. Make sure that you have the latest drivers for your video card from the manufacturer's web site.

But CoD2 runs fine? And I do have the latest drivers. Any ideas or suggestions?

rturbo, I play Halo 2 as well but not as much now unless a friend wants to. Gamertag: tjf0288

CS:source is one of the most addicting games I've ever played. I think the girlfriend is going to leave me because of it.

Sounds good, and I'm already single so I'll be free to play... CS:S also only cost $20 as opposed to the $50 fro CoD2... I think I know what I'm getting...

Get the Half Life2:Game of the Year Edition. Comes with Half Life 2, HL Deathmatch, Half Life 1 Source, and CS:Source. Best buy has it for 39.99 right now (its not an advertised sale though)

All the more reason why they need to put a Best Buys near here... :devious: Anyways I'm downloading CS:S as I type. It's takin forever... I guess this thread is done. Thanks.

I'm sorry I missed this thread, but seeing as my suggestion is still fairly cheap, I'll post it anyway. I'll have to check the price points for sure, but you should be able to pick up CS 1.6 for around ten bucks, the same for Half Life 1. I would suggest getting both of those, as well as downloading XFire. CS 1.6 has a lot more community support, and a lot more players than CS:S has ever had, and Half Life 1 has so many great mods, that there is no reason not to buy them. I will post more later, my lunch hour is up and I gotta get back to school

To be continued...

I haven't played but I have COD 2 and it's a waste of money. I really want CS though.

You know, I didn't even notice the SN... I feel like an idiot now. In my defense, I was paying more attention to eating my lunch.
