Hey guys. I have a picture that I want to use for my avatar here and the file is too big. I don't know how to compress it. I use Microsoft Picture It! and none of my pictures seen to fit the 15.6 KB specification.

You can't really compress a picture (that I am aware of), but you can decrease its size several ways. The easiest to do would be to decrease the number of colors that the picture uses. This would take out the extreme colors that when removed would not be noticeable. You can also decrease the resolution of the image (just make sure that the dimensions remain the same).

what i did for my avatar was decrease the number of #pixels x #pixels, and then save it as a jpeg. i think thats what i did anyway. i know mine is a little small, and i forget why it is (might be how i saved it, not sure), but nonetheless, the method i described is what i do and it has worked before for me, so why not for you?

Ya. I figured it out right after I posted this. It's just that the last time I tried to ruduce the size it still wouldn't allow it. it worked this time though Nd I even got to use some effects.:p
