currently perfect dark zero, project gotham 3,amped 3, and i know its on PC but why would anyone want to play madden with a mouse and keyboard?
I guess that will always be a given, because everyone likes differenct games...All of my favorite games (First person shooter's) are on PC, except for Halo 2.

So 720P=1290x768...
I play some games at 1280x1024, with 4xfullscreen Anti Aliasing, and 16x anisotropic filtering. The frame rate for ANY game I've played does not drop below 55, thats with full detail on everything. I'm pretty sure that if a console tried to match this resolution, detail level, image enhancements and control options, it would royally chug its way to death on below 30 frames per second.
And HL2 on xbox?? Thats not cool. Bastardization of good games is not on!

With a console, you don't have to worry about constantly screwing around with new hardware, especially if you just want to play the latest games. I regret buying a new computer because it doesn't really fulfill my gaming needs. You can't play a modern game on PC without having a graphics card that weighs as much as a small child... I'd rather have a console where as I'm sure the game will work, and look good. PC's are for multi-function, it's not like you can go on your Xbox or w/e and type this reply like I'm doing right now, but I'll always be a console guy for my gaming, but I must say, RTS must be played on PC, else it's a waste of time. I want to be able to pop a disc into my console and play, I don't feel like updating drivers every week.
For me its mostly that, i suck at controlers, and am pretty awesome with a mouse and keyboard, plus, I'm not gonna come visit these forums on an xbox 360, am I? At some point, consoles and computers are gonna become so alike, that I think theyll intertwine.

LOL@Audiokid, what a freak...
Driver updating every week? Mucking with hardware all the time? A gfx cards that weigh a lot? You gotta get more informed pal. Also, your 'new computer' probably doesnt fulfill your needs simply because stupid console people are ignorant about what to PC to buy and what exactly the appropriate hardware a gamer needs. This is a major reason why retards mouth off about how good consoles are without having any knowledge of the actual running componentry and performance they will get.

Alright...We'll settle this once and for all. Who here has an X-Box 360? I say we see how many FPS' that the xBox 360 can get, and compare that with the FPS's on Westoz' computer. I say that we compare it using CS Source...Oh, wait: you can't get that game on a console.

CS-S stresstest says Average 157FPS @1280x1024, 4xAA, 16xAF.
Can you monitor FPS on a console? I'd really like to see what sorta FPS a new console can do at 720P with 2 or more AA, 8 or more AF.

Wow, you guys sure do talk alot of crap. See, the main thing is that, most people wouldn't be able to build a gaming computer just off the bat, so I'm sorry of you "pros" think that everyone who plays console sucks at life or whatever.
"LOL@Audiokid, what a freak..." -Go back to 4th grade.
"Stupid console people are ignorant about what to PC to buy and what exactly the appropriate hardware a gamer needs."
Actually, I have a computer with an AMD Athlon 64, ASUS Mobo, 512MB RAM, 5:1 Speakers, 19" Monitor. You're so quick to judge.
I was going to get a 6600GT from XFX and another stick of 512MB, but my parents said they were going to buy a HDTV this coming April, and it just didn't feel right to pass that up. So basicaly what I am trying to say, you're just as "ignorant", if not more so than me. You're talking out of your butt, seeing things from one point of view. I think PC gaming is fine, and quite awesome for RTS and FPS, but you've gotta realize that not everyone can be so "smart" as you (cough).

See, you have a gaming pc with a few good bits and pieces, but claim it "doesnt fullfill your needs". What I dont understand is the fact that you have this lying around and dont use it. A 6600GT would power a system that could beat a console, and for the simple fact that you get more gameplay on PC because those games have been designed for the maximum ammount of control and graphic possibilities.
"Actually, I have a computer with an AMD Athlon 64, ASUS Mobo, 512MB RAM, 5:1 Speakers, 19" Monitor. You're so quick to judge."
Yes I am, but thats because from your previous post you claimed it wasnt up to the task, thus there must be something wrong if that system doesnt perform as it should. Despite what you may think, you dont need a 3Kg graphic card to play some awesome graphics. There lies the first hint of ignorance on your part.
Shall we continue?
You seem very quick to pass off any suggestion that you're wrong, and that I somehow implied that you had to build your own computer and "everyone who plays console sucks at life". You couldnt have been more wrong. Simple facts...all someone has to do is ask for advise at a prebuilt pc shop. THATS ALL. Usually the advise that comes back is quality and will set you up with a nice computer that you dont have to do squat to get running.
Sound familiar? From your previous thread "Decided to bite the bullet", its looking more and more like you are the ignorant/stupid one. Take this example: " I have finally received my new PC... I bought Halo for it...res set to something like 1024x5....Anyways, if I bump up to a gig of RAM, would that be sufficient? My PC has the integrated crap (Video). We all said NO it wont, then you complain about not having the best experience with it.
Thus we see your not totally a 'pro'. Thats alright, but you still could've asked quite easily at the pc store if they could tailor a cheap PC that would run computer games better. Odds are, YES would be the answer. However, you didnt do that. You didnt even realise (after discussion in these forums!) that no onboard graphic adapter would play any half decent game. More pieces to the ignorance puzzle.
As for your comments to penguinrusty and myself, there is just no excuse. Putting it together you say: I should be in the 4th grade.
I'm "talking out of my butt" (moderators, this pass as a form of personal insult?)
Seeing things from one point of view. (Well of course! You yourself have your own point of view, made very clear in your post. If we stop prevaricating about the bush, your POV is stark...that I am an idiot, and you're right 100% of the time)
Also (i like this one) "not everyone can be so "smart" as me (cough)" (Dear lord!! Was that sarcasm?? I cant tell!! Its blatently obvious this is a personal attack, one which isnt appreciated. You think I'm stupid....well good on ya! Think I care what some random internet forum member thinks?? Where I get hazy, though, is where in YOUR post you have been smart? Once again, no effort has been put into thinking about your answer OR purchases. Now, a person with a little bit of knowledge would have seen the light....you can connect a PC into an HDTV and play games on a massive viewing area to your hearts content!! Not only this, but it would have better graphics (with your 6600GT, less than the price of an Xbox360!!), and full control options over a console. You can even get a multitude of wireless controllers making the gaming experience top notch.
Now after all that, the final truth comes out. Is that the reason you must insult people on forums? Is it because of your poor purchase decisions that you feel it necessary to get on the offensive in an R/C forum? You could've taken a step back, said "Hey I dont care what these PC gamers think, I'll just be on my way".
No, you deemed it necessary to come in here and use your sarcasm to claim that a few of us as stupid.
Truth be told, you're the one who replied in such a fashion.

You think I'm the only one insulting people? I start with my simple opinion that I prefer console over PC because it's easier from me and this is what I got from you:
"LOL@Audiokid, what a freak..."
"...stupid console people are ignorant..."
"...why retards mouth off about how good consoles are..."
Now excuse me, but I think you're the one being a little insultive there buddy. So if you say: "(moderators, this pass as a form of personal insult?)", there is absolutely NO reason why you shouldn't be warned and I should.
Also, before you tell me: "Hey I dont care what these PC gamers think, I'll just be on my way", do you realize that you're preaching the exact opposite of what you've been doing to me since I first posted what I thought. I merely said I would rather go console and you call me a freak and a retard? You must be much more advanced than me.
Following this, you say that the 6600GT would be cheaper than the Xbox 360, but the thing is, we're getting an HDTV, which I'd much rather use a console. I don't really feel like building a gaming PC until I'm in college and could use the computing power towards graphic design, but for now this is all I need. I planned on doing a little casual gaming on this, but I didn't want to go overkill, just enough to run my RTS games and Windows Media. It's not like I have easy access to find out everything about computers locally, I live in the middle of nowhere and I have to learn things myself on the net, which can be very misleading.
"Once again, no effort has been put into thinking about your answer OR purchases."
Yes, that is why I made several threads asking opinions, thoughts about purchases. I was planning on getting a 6600GT, but I really don't find it necessary anymore. The only games I prefer on PC over console are RTS games, which is why I'm not buying a graphics card and going for a console. I have thought out my purchases, contrary to what you might think in you're perfect little world.
Another reason why I prefer consoles, is because I do not live in my basement, every single hour of the day. I like having friends, contrary to what you may know, there is a world outside the internet. I feel that 4-player games are awesome to kick back on with some friends during a party or just to hang out. Most of my gaming time is spent with at least one more person on a console. 2 people on the same PC doesn't work for me.
"Its blatently obvious this is a personal attack, one which isnt appreciated." Once again, you might want to check the top of my post, where I quoted three very obvious attacks towards me and anybody else who doesn't agree with you.
"Think I care what some random internet forum member thinks??" Well ya must, after all, you did spend quite a while trying to tell me off.
"Is that the reason you must insult people on forums?" I guess I'll just let you insult me and just sit there and take it?
"Truth be told, you're the one who replied in such a fashion. " Oh? I believe calling me a freak isn't exactly righteous.
Of course, my point of view definately spanned both manners of the debate. As in this quote from before:
"I'd rather have a console where as I'm sure the game will work, and look good. PC's are for multi-function, it's not like you can go on your Xbox or w/e and type this reply like I'm doing right now, but I'll always be a console guy for my gaming, but I must say, RTS must be played on PC, else it's a waste of time."
Does this sound like someone who hasn't given PC gaming a chance? I like being able to come home, kick off my shoes, log onto MSN, and turn on my GC. All I was trying to say is that consoles are easier for me to game on, and that's just about it. I never said that people who play PC games are "retards" or "stupid", unlike your comments. I don't think that anyone is wrong with playing one, or both of the choices, unlike you once again. There, I believe I've discredited just about everything you tried to pin on me, let me know if you want to continue.

Your original post was the part that sparked off this argument. It wasnt that you were trying to say ur POV, but a misleading sentence that claimed that with computers you had to put a lot more time and effort into them just to get some games working. From this, I assumed you were a bit of a newbie since those comments were quite idiotic in my opinion.
I love the fact you think I live in a basement on the internet all the time....YES i do have friends, and I go out quite a bit, LANs are especially fun since you can have MORE than 4 players...
Since you say you thought about your purchases, whats the point of your PC then? You were on these forums on some form of computer before, why not keep that to play RTS on? They dont suck much PC power, hell even a 600Mhz pc with a slow graphics card plays diablo etc.
Some of your reasoning is just silly to me. As said before, you can get a PC to output to HDTV's and run nearly all the games consoles can with more gameplay. If you want multiplayer, you can still LAN up pc's just like consoles.
As for this argument, no more. Cant be stuffed going on about it anymore. Both of us have right points, both of us have wrong points too. Lets leave it at that.

Just to answer a few questions, not going to argue though:
-Got a new pc to do digital photo editing and graphics design. Couldn't run Photoshop w/ 64 MB of RAM. Figured I might as well pitch down 200 dollars more and get a much better PC. Also, I run a thing called a "bot" in Starcraft which holds clan channels, used WMP, MSN, AIM and Starcraft, couldn't even use MSN and Windows Media Player on my old one at the same time.
-The thing with LAN is that most of my friends aren't hardcore gamers, only 2 of my friends I know have decent PC's and know how to play RTS/FPS on PC. Small town it's hard to find people who have awesome PC's.
-Hooking PC up to the HDTV, probably not going to happen, they will be on opposite sides of the house most likely.
No more arguement, people you may continue with your thread ;).
