Major disk drive problem

Whenever I insert a CD on my laptop (IBM ThinkPad), the computer will not even register that there is a disk in the drive. It was working yesterday. I can't even open it from "My Computer." What's the deal with this?

Whats the type of your CD drive? If It is CD rom, and you put a dvd in it then it wont read it... If its a cd that has worked before then maybe your eye got dirty on the drive. If thats not the problem then the disk is to damaged.

Either that or just disconnect the drive from you laptop and then just reconnect it. I may be that you computer stopped reading the drive for some reason. If that doesn't work then try to reinstall it, if you can. I you can't find it in My Computer then the computer isn't reading it, so reinstall it completely. If you can find it in My Computer but it is not working, then it is either the disk or on of the components in the drive is broken and you will need to get it fixed (unless you know how).
