AIM problem, plz help

i just got a new dell computer, and earthlink dial-up.i downloaded aim and when i try to sign on it gets stuck on the "connecting..." part. its really getting frustrating. any ideas how to solve it?

Un-install and re-install it. Make sure that windows isn't blocking it.

dont use AIM.

get Trillian http://www.trillian.cc/ it is better interface, not adds, does all the same stuff and you can have all your AIM, YAHOO, MSN, and ICQ ID's running at the same time in the same interface.
