Best racing game...

Im looking for a realistic racing game for the PC... something where your shreading threw the streets, or on the track, idk, what ever catches my eye when you post it.. ( ps, i have a wheel )

What wheel? Most adrenaline pumping game/sim I've played is Grand Prix Legends, graphicly, cna find lots of updates to bring it up to modern levels. I've probably had a faster heartrate racing in GPl then I have in real life except for perhaps a very near chrash I had once.

You can probably find a copy on ebay for not too much. http://forum.rscnet.org has a good GPL forum to get you started.

Probably the best free game out right now is racer, you can find it at the same forum above. Its a WIP, and just gets better as time goes on. Quite some hard working eople making content over there. You pretty much get what you put into it, some prefer neat packed games, I prefer the fluidity of modifying Racer.

I have the GTR Demo, but the full version isn't sold in America yet, I probably want to find a European freind to buy/mail me a copy. I realy enjoy the demo, fairly good physics engine its got!

Of the sms class, those are probably my three favourite. Arcade, I like NFS3 the best.

Racer supports live Env mapping, so the surrounding track objecsts are rojected onto the car as reflections. Its not just a moving sphere map. if your computer can do it, its awesome. As your car drives onto a curb, you can see it reflected in the paint!
