Hey guys, after my thread "Decided to bite the bullet..." a while back, I have finally received my new PC. Anyways, I bought Halo for it, even though I know it isn't rated the best, I figured it would be something good to cut my teeth on, so to speak. Anyways, it's running pretty bad on my PC, I knew that it wouldn't be able to run very well, but I wouldn't mind better graphics. I can run things like WCIII pretty easy, but this isn't quite so. Anyways, I have my res set to something like 1024x5--, and graphic detail is at medium, with no sparks, dust particles etc. It runs alright, but looks crappily =-D. Anyways, if I bump up to a gig of RAM, would that be sufficient? My PC has the integrated crap and I plan on buying a 6600GT for my PC soon, but I want to get playing better soon, and don't have the money for the 6600GT. Thanks.

what monitor do you have ? and yea you pretty much need a good video card...

It might help a little. But integrated gfx really makes it crap....Uprade as soon as you can.

Yeah, I've been doing alright by using Medium detail, but I'm not going to pull onto Multiplayer, which is why I bought it in the first place, until I upgrade. The reason why I was wondering about the RAM is that the Integrated takes 128 of my 512 RAM, but yeah I'll be upgraded by December I'm sure. Oh, I have a 19" CRT, brand new. I'm running the same res still, and I still get lag, so I'm sure it's the GFX card. Thanks, and I'll be getting HL2 when I upgrade! =D can't wait.

After reading this thread I decided to try and play halo. As I have no gfx card just on board video. Card went up in smoke but thats another thread. Anyways, It wont even load I get a halo fatal error and it closes down. Im starting to feel the need the urge to frag. I bought a new car this weekend so Im stuck with the on board for a while.
Holy crap, same here. I bought my new PC like 2 weeks ago and spent about 700 on it, and I picked Halo up for 15 dollars, and I can't even frag anyone!!! I'm stuck to starcraft and warcraft for now lol. Need to sell some RC stuff in order to get a new GFX card, PSU and more RAM.

You all need video-cards that actually are MEANT TO PLAY GAMES, unlike the onboard which was designed for boring people who surf the net all day....
