What slot do you have? AGP, pci-e, or pci? Do you know if you would like nVidia or ATI?

ATI Radeon 9800 pro, or geforce 6800
If you want a good video capture, editing card take a look at the ATI AIW 9600XT. Lots of good capture features and will play the most recent games with ease. I use a little app. called atitool that overclocks the card 10% at startup (this is adjustable). With a core freq. of 577 mhz and an effective memory speed of 710 mhz it plays Farcry and Doom 3 with ease.
if your realy into the vid editing, I would get a card that is suited for your gaming. ATI now has a separate attachment that has all the AIW (all in wonder) features, about 90us, that will work wether or not you are running ATI vid or NVidia.

but if you getting real serious about the vid editing, I would look into getting a nice firewire DV bridge or PCI DV card, similar to this

I have a pinnacle video capture card and software already works great. The one your talking about i recomend it also. I was thionkin about a nvidia fx6600 with 256mbvid ram the price is right about 130-150 shipped on ebay. I think that i dont have to reinstall any new software. Lat time I updated the vid driver said for all fx series. So i think i will go nivdia. I had an radeon card when they first came out and had nothing but trouble with it. Also is agpp better or pci. I dont have pci-e. Thanks for the help. Im not counting ati out yet though. think about this one.http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=5236991577&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT
agp is better than pci
pci-e is better than agp
looks like a good card though
