My internet browsers don't work right. They all have a messege that pops up and says, "This program has performed an illegal operation and must be shut down". "If the problem persists please contact the vendor." Then I have to shut the browser down and lose all my work. It happens on all my browsers. I have 9. Netscape, firefox, IE, opera, avant, etc, etc. I got em all. It happens about every 5-10 minutes and now its starting to get really annoying. It actually took me about 6 times to write this post because it kept shutting down. Did anyone have any problems like this before? Does anyone know how to fix it.? Thanks.

Do a virus and spyware/adware scan.

Oh I have and do these scans all the time. I have adaware, spy sweeper, reg mechanic, plus norton antivirus. I have no viruses/spyware/adware. I also have this thing that compresses and cleans up my computer. So my pc is safe that I know of. Its like there is a repeating error I can't get rid of. I dont want to have to reformat my pc again.
"im so good even norton cant protect you"......j/k reinstall firefox and it should work. then once you have firefox working you can fix up everythings else.

Tried it. Reinstalled every browser ....three times at least.
Do a Windows reinstall. Preferably clean.
If you really don't want to do tahat, download Microsoft Antispyware Beta and let that sucker run in the background (basically like Norton Autoprotect). What you're describing is either spyware or a damaged registry.

I'll try the beta. I think it is also a registry problem. It seems to do it with programs that use the internet. Crap.
EDIT::: It only is for windows 2000 and up. I have '98. AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW. Looks like I'm gonna have to do some reformating. :(
try using system restore first.

I have a simular problem, but then agian its quite diffrent.
Firefox is refusing to connect to any web pages. I tried to re-install it, I even did a windows re-install. I even tried portable firefox and it keeps comeing up with "connection was refused when trying to connect to www.insert-web-page-here.com" Any ideas? I also dont want to reformat. I have win XP + service pack 2. Internet explorer works fine (thats how i'm writing this). I shut down all firewall/anti-virus software running. I CANT FIGURE IT OUT! I hate it when it comes to this...
*sigh*
I think its your version of windows mate, I know ME did the same thing, try upgrading your OS, it'd be worth it.
ssounds like what you have is a mallware call PSGAURD or one of it variants. do a search for "intell32.exe" and do you have a little red dot down in the ashtray that says "you have a.... click me to fix" type message

I dont have a little red dot but I do get periodic messages that arn't pop-ups that say "you have spyware, click yes to fix problem." It only happens when IE is open.
