monitor noise?? should i be worrying?

well tonight i was sitting at my computer (like im doing right now) and i noticed a high pitch squeal, whine, well its just an annoying noise. and i traced it down to my monitor by turning off my speakers (wasnt it) then turning my monitor off. well im wondering if its something i should be worrying about or just try and ignore it as best as i can.

its a dell 19" (old school normal monitor) it came with the dell dimension 4550 that we got 2 years ago. (weirdly its still up to standards with its pentium 4 :rollin: )

ya i think thats it as i turned it off for 20 minutes and it sounds like it stopped.

and yes i am still using a old tube monitor, im trying to get my mother to get a LCD but she says nothing is wrong with the one we have right now. and the computer is going to become mine soon so anything i want for the computer ill have to buy for myself. (looking at getting a optical mouse and a webcam first, yes im also still using a ball mouse.)

look at those screens from sony. its just a plasma tv with ,my computer hooked up to it.. and im using a stationary ball mouse. for those fast pace games.

ya i know a guy using a 50" tv for his computer monitor. he has tons of computer gear in his computer room (5 computers (running all different OS's) he is great at fixing, installing, and everything else with computers.)

he even has a splitter so he can run 4 different computers at once on the one tv.

I have a plasma monitor and it's great. I did notice that when I turn on my tx it starts making a vibrating noise and freezes.

well i know my tx has nothing to do with this as there in a box in my closet (still waiting for my servos!)
