well my friend brought his laptop to school and we pulled the battery out and its a lithium ion battery (11.8v) im wondering if it would be hard to adapt a laptop battery for rc use (maybe my rock crawler project) im thinking of these batteries because they last a long time on a charge plus are cheaper (used) then rc lithium ion batts.

is there really a difference between rc lithium packs and rc lithium packs?
would it be a good idea for a rock crawler (im fine with the added wieght)

As long as they're 7.2 volt, I would guess that it would be fine, but there might be a problem with the amps, etc. I'm not sure if there's a difference, but they'd probably work great.

Nope, RC lithium packs, and RC lithium packs are basicly the same thing..

Why for do you ask twice? Nah, Im just jokin'

But, wouldn't the one from the Laptop be the same as RC in run time 'cause a LapTop isn't pullin' as much amps as a RC would it?

well the labtop would probly pull more amps because of the fans, cpu, all the hardware, and the screen. (my friends battery lasts a good 2-3 hours easily)
