My brother just ordered a dell 8400 packed full with stuff. DVD, CD, burner, flat screen, 5.1 sound, 250 gig HD, dual processors, ...the list goes on. I can't wait to see it. I'm gonna buy games to play on it. Does anyone else have one or have any problems with them?

Uhh....wat a waste of cash. The dell you speak of has one Intel socket T 3.6ghz processor and 512mb DDR2 memory. As far as Im concerned, its a huge waste of money, as the things dont get much more performance gains from the old sockt 478. If you want to game, get AMD. Everyone with a brain in their head knows that AMD processors are the only platform for cheaper performance.

I run an AMD 2500+ "Barton" that isn't even overcogged and my machine out runs 3 of my friends who are all running P4's. AMD processors are tanks... no question.

Hey I am just saying what HE bought. I had no control over it and its not my PC so i dont care. I have my own. Just wanted to see if it was a good buy for him, but I guess not.

Those are decent buys, 800mhz FSB is good. I just hope he got a better video card -- at least the ATI X800, preferrably the GeForce 6800. Otherwise, the best thing is that with Dell, you're going to get some of the best customer service in the industry (from what I've heard). With one of those loaded systems, you get at least a 4-year service contract. All in all, not bad!

Yeah i think he got the ATIX800. He was playing civilization III the other day and it sounded and looked flawless. It wouldnt even load on our other PC though.

Um isn't that like an anamated rts? If he can play far cry on the highest video settings he has a x800.

Dell seems to way overkill the price sometimes thats why i don't like them very much. You can get a much better computer for the money if you build it and plus you know everything better.
