For some reason that I can't figure out my computer speakers have a static/hissing sound coming from them... I've had them for 8 months and it never happened until a few days ago and it won't go away! The speakers are Logitech Z-640's, soundcard is a SoundBlaster Live! 5.1, mobo is a SOYO SY-P4VGM with the built-in sound disabled in BIOS...I've checked all the cables, reinstalled the sound card driver, and turned down the volume...what gives?

Have you done any updates to your OS lately?

The sound is still there when the computer isn't turned on...and when I disconnect the speakers from the sound card...cheap speakers I guess.

The are supposed to have a little hiss. One way to get rid of some of it(or most) is to double click the sound icon on your taskbar and mute the microphone.
Have you moved the speakers recently?
My speakers buzz if I put them too close to my moniter.
