Hi everyone! my computer is really jizzed up. I was doing some housework and i accidentally dropped a hammer on it. It wouldnt detect my monitor and i though oh crap that chip is s***. Then i shut it down and it wouldnt come on. i took out the cpu board, replaced it with a upgrade, hooked everything back up( i know how i biult it) and it still doesnt come on.... What is it? thanks for all the help. I hope ill be able to read this! (friends house) lol.

Did you drop the hammer on the case....or the motherboard?

The computer doesn't turn on? You should check your power supply. My bet is that you popped it somehow. You can get a good Antec for about $60. Don't go for a power supply that is under $50. They don't last very long.

Ok first make sure it's still plugged in.... :lol:
as dumb as that sounds working in tech support alot of people accidentally unplug their comps and don't realize it.
I would go with tcolesen and say it's the power supply, if voltages start fluctuating all kinds of weird things can happen...
hopefully it's nothing major, just try the power supply out of another computer and see if that works.
If not it may be that one(or more) of the capacitors on the MB have gone, which is a problem with some brands of computers.....

ok the power button cord came loose form the motherboard. It works, but i think the chip that the screen plugs into is fried. It wont detect it. Darn.
