need help with avi file

I downloaded a huge avi file, but it's only playing the sound. So now I kinda have a 178MB sound file. :d
How do I fix this? Is there some codec I have to download? If I do, which ones, and where?
I'm using Windows ME (go ahead...laugh it up)

Awile after I dled this, one of my friends told me to dl DivX. I can watch the vid now, but now my computer has gator :mad:

You can get rid of gator by downloading a anti-spyware program, i use spybot search and destroy.

Actually if you do some searching you can find the non-adware divx version which not only works better but TA-Da no adware!
