Well, im searching around for an anti-virus, and I want to know which would be the best to get. I have nortan 2003 right now, but I want to see your opinions. Post what you think is the best anti-virus out there, that is affordable.

Norton anti-virus 2004. I have it on my computer, and never once had an infection or even close to having one.

Nah, that's just the firewall we have. The anti-virus doesn't matter.

I use Trend PC-Cillin. I think it has been rated as the best and is awesome! Whenever it detects a virus is present in a file, it automatically cleans (or tries to) and makes sure the virus doesn't harm anything. And you just click a thing or 2 and you can get up-to-date virus pattern files that come out almost everyday that make it so that the newer viruses can be found.

I have notron 2004, and love it. I can still see RC pics, even with my Zone Alarm fire wall.

Get Norton. It's the best without doubt.

The above comment is based on analysis by computer magazines that I have read, not personal experience.

I have 2003, I want to get 2004 but I dont feel like paying for it.. Does nortan sell like a package of all their items, because I search on amazon alot and type in anti virus and nortan has like spam pretection, nortan anti-virus, and things like that.

Yes, it is very good (for us Americans :p) . I think my dad upgraded to the 2004. I forget how, though.

My brother has had bad experiences with Norton. Apparently it developed a virus that deleted seemingly random files off of his computer every time that Norton kicked in.

By the way, I never have and will never use an anti-virus program. If I get paranoid about my computer being infected with a virus, I can back up all my important files, and if I get a virus, I just wipe out everything and start over with my backups.

Yes, there is. It's called Norton Internet Security Suite, and includes anti-virus, firewall, pop-up blocking, and maybe spyware removal. All of the above are separate programs included in the suite.

Ok best antivirus is Innoculan. Stops them before they have a chance.
Couple this with Spybot Search & Destroy, and Zone Alarms firewall, and you will never have an issue again.
All of these are actually available as free downloads, although the Pay versions do have some more features.
This is what my team uses on our machines we need to keep free of issues, so if you want good stuff use these
