useful freeware

hi, i was wondering if anyone had links to freeware so that i can surf the web in safety (ip blocker etc.) i need total security, but i want to block my ip most.

the reason, my friend has a hacking program, he know's my ip, i need to be secure and make sure he can't hack me.
