BF 1942 Online play

Hey,

I have the game and after getting my new computer & cable the first thing I wanted to do was play BF 1942 online, Well I go to join a game and it says "Failed To Connect To Server" for EVERY one.. So I go to hit "ok" and it usually ends up restarting my computer. How can I get it to work right?

Also if anyone here has the game I wouldnt mind playing a game online if I can ever get it to work!

Do you have a firewall? Cause thats exactly what I got when my firewall wouldn't let it access the internet. I then switched it to let it run, and it cleared up all the probs.

How can I tell if I have a firewall? I have McCaffe and Norton, but I dont think either of them have firewalls... Is there any other type of firewall I could have?

If you use a router, it is very likely that it has a built in hardware firewall.

If you move your courser down to the bottom of the screen, and the menu pops, up, all he way to the right, there should be a little icon (s) that indicates your firewall. Click on that, and if there isn't an option to turn on online gaming, then just click shutdown what ever you have (the firewall) Shutdown both firewalls and then it should work. (There is might not be an option to turn onlne gaming on, I am only familiar with Zone Alarm Pro. BTW, is McAffe an internet firewall?

McAffe is a company. They do make a firewall, but it isn't included in its anti-virus software.

I do have a router, but i downloaded the latest patch and now it works.. So I guess I needed the latest patch?.. Also downloaded Desert Combat AWWSSSOOMEEE! (but for some reason I cant play DC online now..Gonna try the new patch for it tomorrow)

Ok.. So I just downloaded the newest BF 1942 patch, and the newest DC patch.. now NEITHER of them will let me play online! what is going on?!
I obviously dont have a firewall because I was playing on regular Bf 1942 online last night...

Please help me out... Im about to break somthing!!!
