GTA3 Question

I bought GTA3 for PC today since it was $10 at Best Buy. I played the game a bit on my friends PS2 as well as on my computer, but the cracked version I had didn't allow me to save games.

Anyways, I've encountered a problem: On the mission called "The Getaway," you have to take these three mafia dudes to the bank. Then, they're supposed to rob the bank and you're supposed to be their driver. I've tried it twice, and both times they've gone in, shots have been fired, and then I get a Mission Failed notice. If I walk inside the bank, I find the guys dead. What's going on?

EDIT: I'm not sure why, but it worked the third time I tried it. Now I keep dying while trying to pick up the money from the Triads...bleh.

I remember that mission. Although you already beat the part, I'll explain anyway. You just wait for them to get in the car, than take the big road through an alley. There is an icon there that remove one star. The other two you can just drive off, or go to the paint shop. I don't remember the rest of the mission though.

No, what was happening was that they would go into the bank and die. It was really weird. Whatever. Now I'm at the part where I'm supposed to kill this rat on the inside of the mafia. I was about to commit vehicular manslaughter when I got hit with something large enough to blow up my shiny new Banshee.
