I built with the help of my father in law since I had no woodworking skills. I also built the computer which has an XP1600+ CPU, Epox KT333 mobo, 256 PC2700 DDR, WD 10 Gig hard drive, WD 20 Gig Hard drive, 56x CD-rom drive, Geforce MX440se 64mb video card, and Linksys 10/100 NIC. It runs MAME (multiple arcade machine emulator), and currently has over 4000 (no that's not a typo) video games.

Unfortunately, it took me a couple of months of weekends to put it together...I built it on my deck and moved it into my house every nite. So it wouldn't be feasible to build and sell...plus could you imagine shipping?! :)
I do plan on building another one. I just had a 16x17 gameroom added on to my house. This time I'm cheating, I bought a Neo Geo cabinet for $30 and I'm going to use that...just pop a PC inside of it. I am going to build a custom 3 player control panel for it tho. I got a keyboard encoder, wire, and a 4way/8way joystick for Christmas. But I won't really be working on this one much until I finish restoring my Pole Position II.

Here's a picture of the Neo Geo I plan on converting to a 2nd Mame cabinet. It doesn't work.

And here's a picture of my Pole Position II that I'm restoring. To the right of it is a U.N. Squadron game that also belongs to me. These are being stored in a friend's gameroom until my gameroom is completed.

WOW! I hope you "own" the originals for 4000 games, unless you want a surprise visit from the FBI....... :)
BTW, I guess in your case it's good enough for the MAME, but why get the 440MX (or SE which is slower I *think*) when you can get a Ti4200 for a few more $$? Plus you're getting that 128MB DDDDRRRR RAM and 8x AGP ... ? But then your Athlon processor is pretty fast so I guess it balances out. :)
$30 for the cabinet?
That's a great deal esp. for one in such nice shape.
Pole position 2 =) coolness!
Your kids are lucky they get to play such classic games. :D

stalker2150: Actually right now I've pulled the Geforce MX 440se and replaced it with an old 8 meg AGP card. It was to prove a point. MAME doesn't use any video card memory or processing power...it's solely drive by the CPU. So putting a 4meg PCI card into the machine or a Geforce 4 TI-4600 with 128megs of Ram will make absolutely no difference. Thus the reason I went with the cheaper card. The only reason I bought the GF4 MX440se was because it was only $40 and TV-out which I thot might come in handy if I ever put a TV in an arcade machine. :)
BTW, my main PC does run a Geforce 4 Ti-4200.

Ah, ok then. Yeah I knew it uses A LOT of CPU power, but I was thinking that if you had that Ti4200 in there, you could always play other 3-d games with no problems. :)
BTW, you do know what I meant about 4000 originals right? Especially if "people" start finding out about that many arcade games running on one machine? Or are you gonna keep it hush hush?

Hush hush...and play stupid I bought 'em on CD from someone so doesn't that make it legal?! ;)
Actually, what's funny is a lot of them I do own in another format...I have a bunch of Atari 2600 games still and Super NES...so I consider this my 'backup' copy. A lot of the other games I could take off as it makes the list so long I have to scroll down forever to find stuff. Plus 90% of them I'll never play. So I may still shorten my list.

Hehehe. Sshhhh....!!
Yeah I was wondering about 4k games.. you'd never remember which one's you have and don't.... and then searching through the list like you said... Ugh!
