If you want intially buggy-as-heck pull-you-hair gaming, get Tribes 2, then get it's 3 patches if you're lucky enough to figure out which ones, THEN have fun bombing stuff and tactical planning and what not. ($20?)

OR you can buy the original UT:Game of the year edition ($10?) or UT2k3 ($30 yet?) with it's additional FREE downloadable levels (200MB total) and few more game modes, and have fun from the get go, with some patching which fixes some minor gameplay bugs.

I'd say get both, since the gameplay is like comparing apples and oranges.

Just FYI I just installed Tribes II Bestseller Edition on my computer three days ago and there was not one patch download (all were pre-applied) and I never had trouble with it on 4 or 5 different systems (patch downloads were always automatic) :confused: $9.99

But that is not to take anything away from UT... loved that game too... just very different (and yeah Frap, more violent). Much faster-paced, always a fragfest :D

Well JANG, you should count yourself as the lucky few since they came out with that "best seller" (i.e. best irritator :p ) edition. All I can say is I paid $40 for it when it was new, and I was cussing at it on 2 different computers. In fact, it was the ONLY game out of ~85 I own that I ever tried to return because of the bugginess. :lol: Used to have problems on my Voodoo 5 5500 and Voodoo3 3000 (500Mhz Athlon w/ 384MB ram, Win98), and ALL sorts of video drivers and other crazy downloads, switching between D3D and OpenGL, lowered detail (I mean lowered to butt ugly) just to get the stupid game to work without crud frame rates, EVEN AFTER downloading the then latest patches. Well, when I got it to work, I had as much fun as you can have from a single player experience, until I got my 1.4GHZ athlon Emachines, and with newer GeForce 4 cards for both systems, I didn't have too many problems getting it to run and have some MP fun with my li'l bro.

Too bad they killed WC3 with those uber spell units.... Forget about sending in a regular unit army and thinking they'll win, 'cause the CPU will throw all the lamo' spell units at ya' and disable all your units, and then you'll find yourself cussing the game out.... :lol:
