100mbs is way too fast for DSL... mine is only 1.5 mbps. I think you meant kbps. Either that, or I bow down to your DSL company. And congrats on the new bandwidth...enjoy it.

I put it on my life, it is 100mbps. I will post a screenshot in a few minutes. I have the High Speed(50$/month) Version of SBC yahoo. W00T!, my dsl pwnz cable users!

Uhh, how can that be? T3 only gets 44.736 Mbps
I can't see how dsl would be faster...

I cant really say, but the cable at my school also gets 100mbps, and my freind (iluvtruenos) who lives in illinois thousands of miles from here has the same dsl and is also connected at 100mbps, also my friend(zBentz) who lives in corona about 15 miles from here gets 100mbps with his cable. If any body ahs a place I can upload a screenshot I have one showing the speed.

I seriously doubt your connection is that fast it prolly say kbps...and you should get around 100 kilobytes persecond but not even T1 reaches 100 mbps....i thin kyour reading hte wrongthing please post an image.

I have dsl and I don't get anywhere close to 100mbps. I just ran a test at http://www.dslreports.com/speedtests/ and my download speed is 832 kbps. That is less than 1 mbps. What you are seeing is how fast you are connected to your router or modem. the chances are you are using a 10/100 ethernet router and you would be connected to that at 100mbps. The average speed for dsl would be ~1/3 - 1/2 what mine was.

i get 350kbps on my SBC (*not yahoo*) dsl line

lan cards are 10/100mbps maybe thats what your seeing
my mom has sbc yahoo at her house and she does NOT get 100mbps

I have DSL and it's 34kbps max, I know what he's thinking though. Like Doc said, if you have Win XP, it'll say "100 Mbps" when you dbl-click the connection icon in the task bar, or hover over it. It says that even for my LAN connection (which really is a 100 megaBIT per second connection). That's just a generic speed it shows. Trust me. If it were 100 MEGABYTES per second, heck even 100 megaBITs, you'd be the luckiest INTERNET user alive that I'd ever know.

Here's a test. Download a big enough file like maybe 1 megabyte in size (anything, a song, game, whatever) and see what the approximate download speed is in the download dialogue box. I'm betting it won't be more than 384 KB/s.

ah ok... but, cable can be considerably faster than dsl, depending on the number of users on sharing the local bandwidth.

Stampeder, go ahead and do it Uploadit.or isnt working for me for some reason. I am aware its not the download speed, it is the speed displayed if you look at your network connections. My max download speed hovers right around 156kb, depending on a few things of course.

O yea, and stampeder1, mine also says 100mbps, therefore it is exactly the same as yours.

I am now aware, that 100mbps isnt my actual connection speed. It is the speed didsplayed for almost anyone with a broadband connection. I am not on a network though and I am not even using a router.
