Alright, I was in my car the other day using the wiper fluid to clean off my windshield. And that got me thinking.

What if I scrounged up a second system (wish I knew the technical name for it) from a junker, then had it running in my car so that it would send water onto my radiator?

Is it a good idea, or just sheer lunacy?

idk about that wouldnt it have to always be on for it to actually cool the thing? it would go through alot of water that way...
my old surbanan has the passenger side one shooting water about 6 feet over the like 5 foot hood lol, i like to squrit convirtables lol.

A water spray system for a radiator? Yeah, that'd go through a lot of water, and not be very effective (most of the water would never even contact the fins, it'd roll right over the hot air layer). Water spray systems are used on intercoolers, not radiators.

That would be ineffient, you'd need a tank 2 or 3 times the size of the gas tank for it to actually last a decent time.

We used to do that on the race cars as last ditch "OH GOD JUST PLEASE LET ME FINISH" method.

We also used to plumb a windshield washer squirter to each front brake and hook it into the brake light circuit to activate. Instead of water we used windshield solvent to eliminate getting water on a tire, the Isoprpyl evaporates quickly and really cools.

I've seen it done! I worked at a Dodge dealer, and some old fart with a lot of time on his hands did just what you described. He said he used the extra squirt for climbing steep grades in hid '92 Dodge Cummins Diesel. He had all kinds of junk hanging on his truck.

Yea, its also very flamable, and dont brakes partially lose there effect when wet? seems like the disc would slip acrross the face of the pad easier.

...Not to mention disk warp?

Nope, you inject the water into the center of the rotor and if anything is left it come out around the circumference of the rotor.
It never gets anywhere near the brake shoes.
You only warp rotors when you stop completely and hold the brakes on. The pads insulate a section of the rotor while the rest cools and causes warps. You won't warp one while moving.
