It looks like a SL 500. It was designed by Gordon Murray (designed McLarenF1) and is going to be built by McLaren also. It won't be a Five speed manual. Its a Five speed Automatic for the lazy Rich people who are going to buy it.

I'm not jealous. I would never buy a Mercedes. My dad had one and it was in the shop every 2 months. Fan belt, air conditioner, windows don't work, etc. And on recent quality reports they were moving on down the list. Now explain to me why I would want to pay close to a quarter of a million dollars for a Mercedes.

f3387 all of your claims are false, what quality report are you talknig about? No such report. And what year is this Mercedes that your dad has, like an 80's model. And whats with you saying its auto trans for lazy rich people?? Eh,i like the car alittle bit but i would never buy the thing.I am always gonna have an off-road car no matter what!You epople in cali will see me going across with a h1 hummer lol.but back to the main point,f3387,mercedes don't break that often dude,my dad's friend had an slk 230 but he sold it to buy another car.Auto trans and manuel trans are different,i mean if your the guy to know how to work a 5 speed trans(i don't know how myself) then you could drive a manuel tran.Its basically all up to the drive and what he wants.

It's called the JD Power and Associates 2003 Manafacturer Quality Survey. Mercedes was in the middle to lower section of the chart. I don't hate rich people or pass judgement on them. I hate rich people who buy perfomance cars with an automatic transmision. Why buy a Porsche with a tiptronic? If you get a PERFORMANCE vehicle, get a manual and get the most performance out of that vehicle. And my dad had an 1991 300 E.

I hate it when people say that the only fast cars are manual, obviously you dont know anything,and you dont know Mercedes theory about automatic v.s manual. A SLR can smoke the hell out of any Porsche, BMW, some Ferrari's, and a handfull more. And stop with the manual vs. auto trans, you've never even driven a high performance manual, and a high performance auto, so dont speak about it.

yah, my dad was thinking of getting a Cadillac CTS-V (400 hp, corvette engine) but he didnt want manual, and thats the only thing it came with. He works downtown with lots of traffic and he says he wont get manual again.

btw, i read something about the Mercedes SLR McLaren a while before.

I saw that same car at a racetrack in Valencia Spain when I was testing for Yamaha Germany. It is a SuperKompressor and it was doing some impressive lap times.
