Well, the XBOX has better graphics, features, and internet. But the PS2's game library is far superior. But they do share alot of the more famous games. If I were you, I would base it on whether you want to play games on the internet or if there is a specific game that is unique to one system.
The PS2 supports the internet as well. The internet on the PS2 was released about 1 to 2 months before the Xbox. :)

I just said that the XBOX internet is better, not that PS2 doesn't have it at all.
The graphics on the XBox are way better looking than the PS2. I love mine!

This used to be true but not anymore...for thise who have been keeping up with al the latest games, most of them are going to xbox only...i read that the xbox now has more "good" games than the PS2, meaning that in total the ps2 has more games but f you look at better games, the xbox has more of them..
also the graphics and memory is better

To say the X-box has more "good" games is pushing it, IMO. All of the good X-box games can(mostly) be found on the PS2 as well. (exception- Halo) PS2's library, as of now, is, as was said, far superior. X-box, IMHO is still catching steam, and is basically better in ever other category. Earlier on this was a problem, because what good is an awesome system with ony 1-2 good games? But now most of the good PS2-only games are going over to X-box *cough* GTA series *cough*, and it's catching up with (and soon will probably pass) the PS2.
Btw, it looks like the Gamecube is going way of the Dreamcast... poor Nintendo. Looks like Sony is next.

Sony’s PS2 has had about a 2 year head start over Microsoft’s Xbox. The Xbox is just entering its third year of production and is still a relatively new system and its sales should continue to be steady. I think Sony has begun to realize that the Xbox will eventually overthrow the PS2, hence the beginnings of the new PS3.
Back when PS2 was first released it was far superior to any other game console before it. It’s no wonder that the game producers congregating around Sony so that they could make games for the best and newest system that everyone wanted. Sony had NO competition and their sales reflected it.
Microsoft, as we all know, is probably one of the most successful companies of all time. In my opinion, no one needs to worry about Microsoft generating a malfunctioning product. They obviously have this computer thing down and they know what their doing.
As for Xbox not having enough games. I don’t think that is possible. There isn’t a chance that one person could own every Xbox game and then proclaim that there just aren’t enough games. The average person has maybe 10 or so games (averaging about $50…That’s $500). There is no way you could go to a game store and say that you have all those games. There are always plenty of games to choose from.
I, by the way, favor the Xbox and I’m certain that Microsoft will continue manufacture many advancements for the Xbox, if not completely new systems.

I agree with most of your points, but disagree with the one above. What the people who say that mean is that there aren't enough good games. Sure, there are enough games to satisfy anyone, if they were all good.

Well as I have heard from many people the Xbox will suit older people and has the far long drawn out games, strategy and such, while the PS2 is easier for a younger person to hop on and play. I have had mine and three games for about 2 years now and I just dont get bored with it. Vice City, PS2 game originally, now is moving to the Xbox. In my opinion I give congrats to the PS2 for making the games first and getting them out there first even though the Xbox is catching up. I will probably own and Xbox later but right now, being 16, the PS2 suits me just fine.

XBox if you like cutting edge technology. PS/2 if you like cheap games.

Very true. The only thing back then was the '64 and the Dreamcast, which sadly, was a flop. (poor sega)
I think the fact that sony is making a PS3 is showing that they are scared of the Xbox's potential, with good reason. They should at least wait until the 'Box's potential shows itself.

I've never gotten the chance to use a PS2, but just seeing what it does, and what games there are for it, it looks decent. Having played an x-box, though, I think it will have to work to keep it. That system has some nice stuff going for it.
As for gamecube, things aren't looking good. I think the main thing that draws people to it are the nintendo-only games, such as Zelda, Smash Bros, Mario, etc. I hope they dont disappear like Sega did.

Sega making the PS3 has nothing to do with fear of X-BOX. I'm willing to bet that they started research and design on the PS3 shortly after the release of the PS2, before XBOX was even announced. Even if they didn't have competition, they would still make a PS3.

Well, not everyone has unlimited wealth, or even wealth at all. It's not that people don't like but one system, it's just that they can't afford buy one system. That's where choice and personal opinion come into play.

X-BOx. Better graphics, X-BOX live capable, and has some of the better games (like halo, and halo 2 which is coming out in April)

xbox is superior to ps2 in every way except that the ps2 is a little smaller and lighter.
but u really can't compare them, it like comparing a 3 yr old pc (ps2) with no hdd and crappy specs, to a new pc with state of the art tech (xbox)
even though xbox is way off new computers it's alot more powerful than ps2 and GC.
