I need to know if all this stuff will work well and most importantly if it will work together.

CPU- AMD Athlon 64 3200+ (I figure the 64 technology will be hot next year) Does anyone know what Ghz this would be equal to?..

MOBO- Gigabyte Ga-K8N Pro nForce3 Chipset 800FSB AGP8X W/Lan, USB2, IEEE & Audio (that was fun to type..)

Memory- 512mb Pc3200 400Mhz DDR

HD- Maxor 120GB 7200RPM ATA 133

Vid Card- ATI Radeon 9800 SE 128Mb DDR AGP 8x w/ Tv-Out & Dvi

Dvd- Sony 16x DVD-Rom

CD-Rw- Sony 52x24x52 EIDE

Moniter- Aquaview 19" SVGA

Sound Card- Creative Labs Audigy 5.1 w/1394 IEEE

Speakers- Juster Neon Light (Will prob buy better ones later)

O.S.- Windows XP

All packed into a 350Watt Case with a thermal display and 5fans :D

wow!athlon 64's arent cheap, anyway the only thing i can see is you may want to get a more capable power supply something maybe like an antec 550watt(you should be able to buy one at best buy.);)

64 bit programs and operating systems won't be out for at least a couple more years and until then the 64 bit capabilities really won't help in a home computer application. The 3200+ is around the equivalent of 3 gigs! Next year you will see a lot more companys(especially intel) getting into the 64 bit scene.

How much does one of those powersupplys cost? And what exactly will it do?

And 3ghz! W00t! So going with the 3200+ with the 64 tech is a smart long term choice then?

Yeah, you should be ahead of the curve with it! :D

I have a 450 watt Antec power supply, they range in price from $45 to $95 depending on the wattage. Antec makes one of the best power supplies available. They supply power to the MoBo, cpu, and so on. Basicaly they power the computer.

I havent heard this yet but RAM rules all...yeah the rest of the stuff is fun, but RAM is cheap and will improve performace by miles. Heck - my Compaq Laptop has more ram than that thing...dont let that amazing work-of-art processor go to waste, get a gig of ram...

I agree with Monouk, the more ram the better the performance. I have 2 gigs in my computer and it definetly helps with performance.

Athlons may have actual lowere ghz, but they run like they are fast. And how is the P4 extreme faster? It has half the bus speed.

Yeah the 64 Athlon is actually only clocked at 2.1 gigs or the Athlon64 xp is clocked at 2.2. Not 3 gigs. Just a little info. I have my own custom case and so does my brother. His is water cooled and his 2500 1.8gig is now overclocked to 2.2 gigs. Kinda cool. His is totally customized and painted. He even cut out a flame window. The only thing that cool about mine is I won a 9800 pro 128mb.:rollin:
