Hey i just wanted to let you all know that Need for speed underground in ma opinion is a very nice game. It is fun it has its downs but if u enjoy the sound of turbos and Driftin and enjoy the realistic style of cars and amazing lookin cars. Its fun,
Andrew
P.S. i would actually wait till the price breaks a little, it is kinda high

I played it at a friends. I think Midnight club 2 is a nicer game, except that you can't mod cars. But I can't wait until GT4 comes out (early next year, woohoo)

To tell you the truth, i actually said the same thing, ma friends gave me a stupid look and i never brought it back up. I dunno if i should buy it. Fast and the Furious looks good with bad graphics (lol) I really like all the car games that are coming out later this year

I just played a demo of NFS underground . the game looks alright , but i think midnight club 2 is better . I do like how you can customize your cars in NFS undergound.

That game has taken many hours of my time recently that should have been spent on essays. It's very fun and addicting. The drifting and dragracing are what make this game.

I'm not sure about the demo, but in the full game to mod your car you go to customize car in underground mode.

I just finished playing this game and Whoa! that game is sweet, I think it's much better than Midnight Club 2. Midnight Club 2 just was missing a crutial element, but I don't know what it is it just didn't seem right. . The drag racing is great and drifiting is better. The range of cars and mods you can do is huge and you can get like 4 layers of vinyl on the paintjob. The graphics are exceptional and i like the fact that you can get cars that people actually drive around the streets and stuff not like the Ferrais and Lamboughinis like in the other NFS games. It is so much different to the other NFS games I forgot it was part of the series. The title is a bit unoriginal though because there is Tony Hawks Underground and Medal of Honour Undrground as well. :)

If you couldn't understand I like this game lots!

I downloaded the demo and a somewhat not pleased. I mean, the tires ar octogons! Absolutely no crash damage what so ever. Also it is extremely picky about shift RPM. I seriously hope the full version for gamecube is much better than this or thats one item off my x-mas lost. On a good note the cars look great. And with 4 Nissans to choose from I'll be sittin pretty for awhile.

As for the tires being octagons, check your detail settings. No crash damage is a bit of a let down, but it's not in GT3 either so.... And the shift RPM thing is what drag racing is all about, of course it is picky.

Great game, I baught it on Game cube the day it came out!
Be ready for a long game the career version is 111 levels! Im on level 99, Its a fairly easy game though.. just stay on the hard levels so it will be more of a challenge! The only hard parts on the game really are the drag races, once your car becomes more modified getting a perfect shift to 2nd or 3rd is a challenge!

I played it on PS2 and there are no octagon wheels. Drag races are easy in my opinion.

Finny when you run the drags are you using the "Hard" mode? because thats when they are more challenging (duh, lol) and I dont see any octagon wheels, didnt see any in the demo either.

I wish there was crash damage, HP/Torque readings and the ability to buy specialty parts like brembo brakes Vs Brakes package 1,2 or 3 or Borla cat-back exhuast Vs Exhaust package 1,2, 3.

My opinion about the game is rent it.. I could have beat the game in a week if I had played it every night so its not a long lasting game if you are good at racing games, and gets somwhat boaring without somone else to race.

Hahah :rollin:yeah thats what I tought too, it looked like it was made with some free game maker thingy software. Seriously it was a sad thing. Wait for the signal, just press forward and watch the cheap physics kick in, wait for the cheap ending. Good thing I borrowed the cd from my friend before I even thougt about buying it.

Too bad they totally blew it with NFS:Hot Pursuit 2 for the PC... couldn't even tuen your car.. or even play HP mode in multi... (stupid or what?) Grrrrrr  Can't forgive EA for that ever.

But yeah , NFSU looks pretty good, I'll have to download the demo one of these days..... Even though I presonally have this thing against "tuner" cars aka Fast and the Furious style cars. Dunno, Just hate that whole "My cars soo cool 'cause it's got a carbon fiber hood" thing.....

To demo users:
Gaming companies purposly lower graphic detail and general physics to make the download size smaller, and because they usually don't want to put much work into something that they won't benifit (money) from, i.e. free demos. Not all companies do this, but a lot of racing game demos end up this way. So you NFSU Demo players, those octagon wheels, non shiney cars and streets are nothing like the real deal.

Anyways, I'm not really into the (str)Eat Rice(r)...... street racer scene, but this game has good graphics and the customizable cars is feature is great. Though the car physics seem a bit unrealistic, they ultimately are fun and this game is addicting.

Never liked the checkpoint to checkpoint gameplay of Midnight Club 2. MC2 is really focused on today's street racing scene and they had a good idea, they just really failed to execute. No drag racing, no car customization, numbered nitrous boosts, and overall lame gameplay, (in my opinion). Most of these things are somewhat minor, and are present in a lot of classic racing games, but what got me was the 4 colored robot people walking alongside the poorly detailed lame environments. The environments just didn't feel alive, like NFSU's moving banners and realistic lights.

But, all in all I still don't think either of them have as good of physics as Gotham Racing, and the new and improved Gotham Racing 2.
