Wow forums like these that help me realize im the only geek at my school....Im one in a select roughly 5 ppl that have build their own computer...and mine is the nicest out of all 900 people...lol

Thermaltake XaserII case
Antec 430watt psu
Gigabyte GA-7n400 Pro
XP 2600+ T/Bred overclocked to 2.3ghz (11x208 @ 1.825vcore, ok 2.28 but it rounds to 2.3 :))
512mb PC3200 ram (256x2)
Ti4600 8x gfx card, overclocked to 320/725
1 80gig WD HDD
1 120gig WD HDD
sony 52x CDRW
16x DVD-ROM
Full window kit, side LED case fan, blue, 5 case fans total
D-Link NIC card, dual lan is great for lan parties, some one can just run a patch cable to my second ethernet port
Gateway 21in (16 viewable...biggest POS ever lol)
Logitech Z680 Speakers
Altex Lancing 2.1 also hooked up at the same time
Logitech Elite black keyboard and standard USB optical mouse (blue)

Comming soon is:

Thermalright SLK-900A heatsink and vantec tornado fan paired with a fan speed controller
SB Audigy 2 ZS
15in LCD to run dual monitors
Upgrade to 1gig of ram
DVD-RW
200gig SATA drive
I might be swapping processors with my bro and be getting his 2500+ barton, get the same clock but require less on the vcore cause the bartons OC better.

Oh ya forgot to mention....The overclocked at 208 giving 416 on the fsb..is with generic memory...non overclocking....Not too bad, and its a nice overclock. When I get my barton and the 1 gig of memory (Havent decided, looking at PC3500 OCZ or mushkin) Ill be able to get a nice clock....shooting for 2.5 WOOT!

Nice comp man, but unless I'm mistaken, thats your WinXP CD code, and you really dont want a bunch of people to use that, if they do, microsoft will shut ya down. (Or so I've heard)

nah thats not the code you use to register WinXP......I have Windows XP Pro Corp and it uses a different key

Those cpu and ti overclocks are pretty good. Nice performance boost out of that! Im planning on doin memory volt mods on my mainboard, as bios is at the max of 2.9v and i cant get 225frontside bus. I want that 2.5ghz too! If you want to get a new barton, they are all multiplier locked as of week 30-2003. But, for a good overclocking chip, the barton 2500 core has matured and is great, but for locked multi of 11. Good luck!

yup I know....I do my research ;)

I learned how to overclock and such by hopping on AMDforums.com :)

Still completely stable at 2.3ghz after hours and hours of gaming and intensive photoshop/premiere/dreamweaver use all at the same time.....1.825 Vcore and +.01 on the Vdimm. Idling nicely around 44-46C and like I said before, that is with the stock fan and heatsink.

Not bad. Your one of the smarter comp people, who dont worry about temps for the simple reason that the overclock is stable!! Some people are paranoid at cpu temps over like 40c lol.

ExtremeMT

lol. I wont get worried till around 60C

He everybody im new here:)

Ive built several but my current system is:
-Thermaltake Xaser II 6000.
-Thermaltake 420W Pure Power PSU
-Soltek hmmmm.... i can remeber the Mobo number, oh well its Nforce 2
-AMD Athlon XP 2500+ Barton (stock cooling)
-512MB DDR400
-Leadtek Nvidia Geforce 4 Ti4600
-Creative Sound Blaster Live 5.1 sound card
-Seagate 120GB Barracuda 7200rpm 8mb cache
-Asus 40x12x48 CDRW

This system cooks, the true CPU temp when i play Unreal Tournament 2004 is 55-60 degress and it aint even overcooked. Ive had my GF4 for nearly 2 years i think but one of the fans is minced (i havent bothered to fix it because im probably going to upgrade soon, PCI express dual video card) so that probably contributes to the overaal temp because my case ventillation sucks (and blows very badly) ever since i replaced the thermaltake standard fans with coolermaster dual ball bearing sensor fans which i are much quieter (i wonder why, ehehe).

I did do some overclocking with my older AMD 1700+ with volcano 7+ (bloody loud BTW) but the power increase was insignificant at the level i could overclock it to and still have it stable enough for my liking. I havent bothered to get any cooling for my current CPU though because Im thinking of going 64, legacy free, SATA, PCI express and all that kind of stuff in the not to distant future so i will save up for that. Or maybe I will go P4? Ive read that those are awesome renderers, that would be nice with 3ds.

Also we kind of had a mouse (real mouse not computer mouse) problem at my place and i used to run my PC open sometimes and at night when the comp was off and cooling, a mouse must have jumped on the video card and done some wee wees because there are yucky mouse wee wees on the GF4 now, cooked and fried wee wees might i add.

Well let me put it like this...the new P4 3.2E...I gotta hand it to intel that chip is AWSOME and EXTREMELY powerful...

But if you got the money for AMD 64, the new FX53...overclocks VERY well, they got it to 4ghz and put it up to the intel 3.2E and it anhilated the Intel except for like 2 or 3 tests out of the 20 they did and it wasnt behind my much at all. I will always stay with AMD simple as that.

Yeah definately the FX is awesome and expensive but im sure that the prices come down when more 64 bit applications are released and 64 bit OS.

Im thinking about water cooling. Ive lloked at the Aquarius III which looks kickass. Plus its modular design allows you to put more than one together to coool any CPU. Im a bit worried about water cooling though because of things like leaks and condensation. Anyone here had any porblems with water cooled systems? what the maintence like?

ExtremeMT

Ive looked at getting it, the D-Tek system.....but Ive decided against it because like you, Im worried about leaks and condensation. I mean ya theres ALOT of people who run it flawlessly, and its like riding an airplane. Ya theres a chance of a problem going wrong, but its rare. Well I dont have the money to dump into all new parts if that rare problem happens to me so ill be without a computer more or less for a while.

I might go 64 next summer, ill have alot of money from graduation presents and such, well next summer, and build up a nice 64 rig and sell my current one.

I can guarantee that FX-53 would have been running evaporative cooling, as nothing can overclock that hard on anything but. NEWS FLASH, Stock FX-53@2200mhz beats stock intel 3.4 Prescott anyway, and puts out more than 30% less heat. The prescott runs about the same as the older northwood, and slower in some occasions. Nice goin intel :p

You guy gota check the Zalman TNN 500A Case (http://www.zalmanusa.com/usa/product/view.asp?idx=64&code=020) if you havent already.

This baby rocks, just look at the way it opens and youll realise its something special. The whole case is the heatsink to the radiator has no fans which make it totally silent besides pump. Theres so much features it will take you for ever to read its page (http://www.zalmanusa.com/usa/product/view.asp?idx=64&code=020) on the Zalman Site (http://www.zalmanusa.com/usa/usa_index.asp). However this kind of wickedness come at a price but it seems like a very reliable system to me.

Also check out the Reserator 1 (http://www.zalmanusa.com/usa/product/view.asp?idx=63&code=021) which is just external silent water cooler. Crazy, eh?

Forgive me for not keeping up with the latest intel has to offer. But the 3.2EE offers 1mb L2 cache I believe, that paired with the higher fsb and external clock....beats the stock clocked FX-53 i blieve. Thats why I mentioned the overclocked FX53. And yes it was running evaporative cooling

I don't build my own but my friend Traxxas Racing did. It is very fast.
