I know what the problem is. Stop visiting those XXX sites! ;)

I'm with Jang. I declare shenanigans if you only have 3 items in your task manager. Even better if you could give us a screenie of the process tab in task manager.

Also in Ad-Aware, make sure you click to update the spyware pattern list and rerun a full on scan.

The task manager will show only what you are actively running in the Applications tab. You should look in the processes tab to find the underhanded software.

Hers why i couldnt find it. Its file name is winservn.exe and is in the C:\\windows\system32 folder.
Here (http://community.webshots.com/photo/77986086/78163151VIReiU). If you select normal size you can read it. Time to seek and destroy now.

Edit: I tried deleting it several times. Says its, "Can not delete winservn.exe: Access is denied. Make sure the disk is not full or write-protected and that the file is not currently in use."

My guess is that its write-protected and in use as its tried attempts to get to the outside now number at 193...

Glad to here we fixed the problem. That's the beauty of a working community. I don't have pop-up problems, but your success prompted me to download Zone Alarm. Is it freeware? Because last time I tried it said it was for only 30 days.

I forgot about the problem after i blocked it off. My dad came in determined to kill it. He searched for a while over all the processes and found one where the file names matched. He killed that then went back and nailed the file! It's gone! Were gonna leave it in recycling bin for a little bit to make sure its not affecting any other files.

Check this out for info on the app: http://www.cexx.org/winservs.htm

This is "ad-ware" intended to scan your PC for porn type material. It supliments its income with ads that it pops up on your system.

I'm glad you found the problem and a shortterm solution. This should clear it up.

I highly reccomend the program SpybotSD over Ad Aware. They both work well, but SpybotSD has more frequent updates and seems to have more configuration. It can be found here: http://security.kolla.de/

I can't stop laughing... today my dad informed me that when he gets his new computer soon I get his 'old' (just got it last year) laptop and docking station! So this computer gets f-disked anyway. All that work for nuttin. I am stoked though. His laptop has 1.1 Ghz P3, and a DVD player thart also burns CD's but doesnt burn DVD's.
